One of the biggest mistakes I see Spanish learners make isn't grammar...
It's believing they need hours of study every day.
The truth?
You don't need to move to Spain to improve your Spanish.
You just need to let Spanish become part of your everyday life. 🇪🇸🤍
Watch one episode of your favourite series in Spanish.
Listen to a podcast while you're making a cup of tea.
Follow Spanish creators.
Read a short article while you have breakfast.
Little by little, the language starts to feel familiar instead of overwhelming.
This is exactly how children learn their first language: through constant exposure, not endless grammar exercises.
As a teacher, I always encourage my students to surround themselves with Spanish in ways they genuinely enjoy.
Because when learning becomes part of your lifestyle, consistency feels effortless.
And consistency is what creates confidence. ✨
🤍 What's one small thing you could do today to bring a little more Spanish into your life?
Save this post so you can come back to it whenever you need a little motivation. 🇪🇸

Yesterday, I turn another year older. 🤍
Birthdays have never really been about the cake for me.
They've become little reminders to pause and look back—not at what I've achieved, but at the person I'm becoming.
If the last few years have taught me anything, it's that life rarely follows the plan we carefully create.
Sometimes the detours become the destination.
Sometimes the hardest chapters quietly shape the strongest version of ourselves.
And sometimes, the dreams we never expected end up bringing us the greatest joy.
When I moved to the UK, I could never have imagined that one day I'd be teaching Spanish to people from all over the world, sharing little pieces of my culture, my family and my everyday life with this lovely community.
Yet here we are.
I've realised that happiness isn't found in extraordinary moments.
It's in a quiet cup of Earl Grey tea.
A sunset.
Hearing my daughters laugh.
A long voice-note exchange with my best friend.
Learning something that changes the way I see the world.
Or simply coming home after a busy day and feeling grateful for the life we're building.
As I celebrate another birthday, I don't have a list of wishes.
I simply hope to keep growing, to keep learning, to keep loving deeply and to keep surrounding myself with people who bring out the best in me.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Whether you've been here for years or you've only just found my page, I'm so happy you're here. 🤍
✨ Tell me something about you that most people don't know. I'd genuinely love to read your answers.
Some lessons come from textbooks.
Others come from what's happening around us.
Over the past few days, many people in Spain have been following the news about the wildfires affecting areas around Madrid and other regions. Emergency services have been working around the clock, and some communities have had to evacuate as firefighters continue to battle the flames.
As a Spanish teacher, I believe that learning a language is also about understanding the world through the eyes of the people who speak it.
That's why today's carousel introduces a few Spanish words you might hear in the news.
Not because they're easy vocabulary...
But because language helps us stay informed, connected and empathetic.
Above all, today I'd simply like to say gracias.
To every bombero, piloto, voluntario and emergency worker risking so much to protect people, wildlife and the beautiful landscapes that make Spain so special.
🤍 My thoughts are with everyone affected, and I hope for the safety of all those on the front line.
Have you ever visited the beautiful forests around Madrid or elsewhere in Spain? Let's hope they recover soon. 🇪🇸
