Feeding Futures

Partnerships for meals that last a lifetime: Feeding Futures helps African communities start school meal programmes, build the farms to sustain them, and steps back as they thrive independently. Harvest is right around the corner. It's a time we celebrate and store all that wonderful food that's going to keep thousands of children healthy and in school learning.
Growing is great, but it only works because of the parent-farmers who are training, working the school farm and gaining all of the skills they need make their home farms fruitful, income-generating and sustainable. This approach is a win for everyone, and the reason that we don't hang around forever creating aid dependency. In a few years, we're not needed anymore. How amazing is that? 😍

So, we're going to level with you. We share this stat all the time, but it isn't actually totally accurate 🫢. It is true (thanks to that little word 'over'), but, the actual increase in crop yield that most of our farmers see is so ridiculously high, that we don't think anyone would believe the actual figure. So we go with 80%.

Any guesses on the real number? 🤔

It can be all too easy to do something FOR someone, especially when you have the resources, drive and compassion to help address a challenging situation. Unfortunately, it's this kind of thinking that's led to so many cycles of aid dependency across parts of Africa.

Partnership takes much more work. It can take more time and effort to train, discuss, share, enable and equip, but ultimately enables you to help break the cycle of aid dependency for good.

That's what Feeding Futures is all about. We're not here to save anyone, but to partner. Through our unique 5 year partnership programme with school communities in Kenya, we're able to step away leaving a confident, independent and thriving community, with no more aid dependency.

Join the revolution in sustainable giving!

For too long necessary and vital aid has provided a lifeline for families in Kenya, and inadvertedly created long-term dependency on the generosity of others.

Feeding Futures is different. Our partnership programme provides the tools, resources and training to break those cycles, enabling families to thrive independently.

Will you join our campaign to give as little as £3.25 per month to break those endless cycles of aid-dependency for families in Kenya?

Meanwhile at our school farm, parents are spraying the maize to protect them from autumn worms and frost. This field will provide vital food to help keep children fed next year.

We are officially mid-way through our campaign! A huge thank you to everyone who has already stepped up to give £3.25/month.

Because of you, children in Kenya are guaranteed a hot meal at school every day this year.

But we still have slots left to reach our goal of 50. Can you help us fill the remaining spots this week?

We know times are tight for everyone right now. That’s why our Autumn 50 campaign isn't asking for big lump sums.

£3.25 per month is just 11p a day.

It's small enough to fit into almost any budget, but big enough to feed children, train parents and see families thrive.

The children of Osembo school in Kenya are back this term, and enjoying their school lunch provided in partnership with Feeding Futures. It's a simple reminder why we do what we do. In a few years we will be out of there, but the programme will continue feeding the children independently and sustainably for years to come.
