Sunday Update!

Today brought the rain back, with pretty poor visibility up high!

Despite the damp weather, all groups successfully walked from the campsite into Ambleside and down to Windermere. Everyone is still in high spirits, especially knowing we head home tomorrow!

Saturday's adventures - Day Three.

Saturday's weather was much kinder, as the sun was out. Sleeping bags dried in the minibus while all the explorers walked to Angle Tarn. On the same campsite as staff, they were drying out kit in the tumble drier or hanging it on fences. Food was being cooked before an early night, with an 18-mile route planned for today.

An update from camp for Day Two.

"Rain" is a massive understatement for the weather we’ve had today! Despite the downpours, every student tackled the walk from campsite up to Red Tarn and back again. One group made a valiant attempt to summit Helvellyn before the weather turned them back, while the other group put their group shelter to the test, enjoying lunch out of the wind and rain by the Tarn.

Back at camp, the tumble dryer was the day's real hero - damp sleeping bags and soaked clothes got a well deserved dry! To top off the day, we celebrated another birthday with plenty of cake.

Gold Duke of Edinburgh Expedition Update of Day One.

After a 7 hour journey in the minibus, our Gold DofE team has arrived safe and well at their campsite in the Lake District!

The excitement kicked in as soon as the students caught their first glimpse of Windermere. Crossing the Kirkstone Pass was a clear highlight, with everyone blown away, quite literally, by the breath taking views and the fierce mountain winds!

All tents are up, the camp stoves are fired up, and the team is settled in for night one. To top it all off, we kicked off the expedition in style by celebrating an 18th birthday with cake at camp.

A fantastic start to what promises to be an unforgettable week. Rest up team, the real adventure starts tomorrow!
