Hot chocolates after school today!

We’ll be serving hot chocs on the Key Stage 1 playground straight after school today 🎄 Cream, marshmallows and sprinkles with vegan option available. £1.50 and pay by card or cash. Hope to see many of our school families as we head off on Christmas break ❤️

🎄 Our PTA Christmas Tree Sale just keeps growing! 🎄

What began as a simple way to offer our school families affordable real Christmas trees has blossomed into a hugely popular annual tradition, and this year we smashed all previous records with almost 60 trees sold!

Our wonderful buyers included school families, local churches (including our parish church St Mary’s), local gyms, beauty salons, and so many amazing members of our wider community. ❤️

A massive thank you to everyone who bought a tree, made a donation, came to our Christmas event to collect their tree, or helped spread the word. Your support means the world to us.
Thanks to you everyone’s support we’re able to continue offering trees at such affordable prices and raise more than £950 for our Opal Play Project! 🙌✨

🎄 Festive Hot Chocolate Friday! 🎄

Our Christmas event is just around the corner - this Friday 28th November, straight after school!

Join us for hot chocolates, savoury treats, festive crafts and fun games with prizes.

We’ll be selling coupon books on the door (just like at the Summer Jam) so you won’t need to pay at each stand.
🌲 If you’ve ordered a Christmas tree, this is also the time to collect it.

This is a community event and all are welcome 🥰

Children, parents and carers - warm up on the playground after school today with a yummy hot chocolate! We’ll be serving from 3.20pm, and you can also buy coupon cards for our Christmas event next Friday (if you’re feeling super organised!)

✨ What a spectacular year it’s been! ✨

This year, our amazing Funtington Primary School community has come together to raise funds through our PTA events - and the results have been incredible! Thanks to your generosity, we’ve been able to raise more than £4,500 and provide a starting donation to our OPAL play project and other treats and experiences for the children.

We’re so grateful for the incredible support and teamwork that make our school such a special place 💙 We’ll have more details about OPAL to share soon, including plans of what the play areas will look like, and the next stage of our fundraising.

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who has supported us with donations, their time, spreading news of our events and joining us at our events. It takes a village - and we have such an amazing one at our lovely village school!

Some lovely snaps from our Halloween event just before half term! The rain held off for our pumpkin trail around the field, and everyone warmed up with hot chocolates, nibbles and the star of the show - a chocolate fountain with marshmallows and dipping fruit!

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us, and the PTA team for transforming the school hall into a seriously spooky party room and putting on a fantastic event for our families. We hope everyone had a wonderful half term - news on our Christmas event soon!

We are delighted to be selling Christmas trees again this year!

Trees of varying sizes are available to pre-order, with either a £20 deposit or the option to pay in full. Our prices are very reasonable (up to 38% cheaper than the four national tree suppliers) so we hope many of our school families and the wider community can enjoy them! The trees can be collected at our Christmas event on Friday 28th November from 3.30-5pm, or from school during opening hours after this date.

We buy in our trees from a local Sussex supplier, they are beautiful Nordman Firs of fantastic quality, and our number of repeat buyers speak for themselves. If you prefer to put your tree up a little closer to Christmas, these will stay fresh if kept outside in their wrappings until you want to put them up. Full care leaflets are included, to get the best out of your tree ☺️

Everyone is welcome - if you’d like to get involved (or just thinking about it) please come along and see what we are about.

We are a lovely team of parents who really appreciate being involved in how we raise money for school and how it’s spent. A huge chunk of what our children do couldn’t happen without our PTA.

You don’t need to have endless hours available to be part of the team, even if it’s just baking a cake, helping collect things, helping run an event or bringing new ideas to the table.

Our little school really benefits from what we raise, we are able to help fund school trips, add to supplies in the classrooms, put on fun events for the children throughout the year and also add to bigger projects such as the school library and money for the OPAL scheme.

We would love to have some new friendly faces on board, who either have children in school or are caters for children at our school. Drop us a DM or catch our Chair Stacey in the playground if you would like to know more!

Highlights from our Summer Jam on Saturday!

We had the BEST time welcoming our school families and local community into our grounds for a fantastic afternoon! After a drizzly start the clouds cleared for sunshine, and everyone enjoyed the games, competitions, archery, bouncy boots, facepainting delicious refreshments. After having to postpone our original date due to bad weather, we were determined to make Saturday happen and it couldn’t have gone better!

To all the parents who baked delicious cakes for our refreshment stand - there were very few left at the end of the event!
To the parents and carers in our PTA who helped to run the stalls, bbq, face painting, setting up and packing down - amazing effort! (including our headteacher Mrs Hoebee who painted faces for 3 hours!)
To the children who helped run stalls, make signs and again help with setup and tidying up

And of course to everyone who came along and supported the event - it was wonderful to see so many of you there.
