sun☀️ sea🌊 and picnics🧺
We had our very own seaside at pre-school - using buckets and spades to make sand castles. The children had lots of fun in the water - talking about the different sea creatures they could find and lining up the boats to set sail across the sea!
For the last week of term, we had teddy bears picnics with our friends and ended with a disco full of dancing 💃🕺

🚙🛻Transport🚑🚜
Our June topic has been transport. This is one of the children's favourite topics.
We have had a car wash, pirates, train tracks and lots of recycling with the bin lorries.
👮‍♀️We talked about 'people who help us' and made our own hospital.👨‍⚕
🚦The children were excellent at 'road safety' - they knew we needed to stop, look, listen and wait until an adult said it was safe to cross.🚸
🏃‍♀We also had our sports day event where the children completed the races fantastically🏃🏿

Our May topic was 'Animals' 🐰🦁🐻🐶
Lots of the children shared photos of their pets and told us all about them.
We had farms and jungles to play in, as well as lots of creative activities.
The children took on the roles of vets in our vets surgery.
We had lots of visits from Sam the dog and a special visitor - Shelley the tortoise🐢

🚶🚶‍♀️We have also completed 3 sponsored walks this week - laps of the Alders, laps around the field and laps of the tennis courts.
The children were excellent - well done to all of them 🌟

🪴🌷 Spring 🐞🦋
The children have become keen gardeners during our spring topic - we have planted cress, grass, beans and flowers.. Hopefully they are all starting to grow at home 🤞
We have been out and about looking for bugs - although there wasn't many to find, but inside there were lots to see in the soil and grass, using the magnifying glasses to inspect them.🔍🐞
We have learned a lot about life cycles of a plant, a frog and a butterfly. The children were excellent at remembering the sequence.🐸🐛
