Two amazing discos tonight. Thank you so so much to St Mary's Catholic Primary PTFA. Organising and planning an event like this takes hours of hard work and commitment. Tonight, it has been a joy to see the children all joining in with the games, dances and fun. We do appreciate the parents staying too. That was a huge help in making sure children were all well looked after. I hope they have all had the best time and sleep well tonight!

CSI Inspection – St Marys 05/02/2026

We are incredibly proud to share that St Mary’s Catholic Primary School has been judged OUTSTANDING in all areas following our recent Section 48 inspection. 🌟

Inspectors praised our school as a joyful, faith-filled community with strong and warm relationships, exemplary behaviour and high quality pastoral care.

Some of the highlights from the report include:

β€œLeaders, including governors, are dedicated to their role in leading this outstanding Catholic school, striving for excellence in all areas.”

β€œRelationships are strong and warm at all levels across the school community.”

β€œHigh quality pastoral care ensures that the wellbeing of pupils, their families and staff is consistently and carefully prioritised.”

β€œPupils are incredibly proud to belong to the St Mary’s school community – and they are a credit to the school.”

β€œA beautiful sacred space has been created, reflecting the centrality of prayer and liturgy at St Mary’s.”

Inspectors were particularly struck by the exemplary behaviour of our children, their warmth and welcome towards others and the way our mission to β€˜let your light shine’ is truly lived out each day.

As with all inspections, some clear next steps were identified to help us continue to grow and improve. These are areas we are already working on and we welcome the clarity the inspection provides.

Thank you to our wonderful staff for their dedication and service to our children and to our fabulous families for your overwhelming support. This report truly reflects the strength of our community and all that we achieve together.

Thank you to everyone who makes St Mary’s such a special place to belong. βœ¨πŸ™

The report can be read on our website:

A huge thanks to our wonderful team of Mini Vinnies and Mrs Asquith for supporting the SVP Padley Martyrs Chesterfield fish & chip lunch yesterday. The children put their faith into action and helped serve and clear away over 60 portions. They were great ambassadors for the school! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Full house today for our annual fish & chip lunch in the Parish Centre. 60+ guests enjoyed being waited on by our Minnie Vinnies from St Mary's Primary school who in addition to the fish & chips served a selection of trifles & refreshments. Well done Minnie Vinnies - thank you.

Today our school community came together in faith and quiet reflection to mark Remembrance Day. At 11am, every class gathered respectfully to hold two minutes of silence, remembering all who have served and sacrificed so that we may live in peace. The children showed great reverence and understanding and we are very proud of them.

We will remember them. 🌺

The Jubilee Year is a landmark moment in the life of the global church. Communities are invited to join together as pilgrims of hope. On Wednesday this week, we held a Jubilee Celebration of the Word in church on the theme of Hope. The juniors attended with their infant buddies and the Year 6 Chaplaincy Team lead the service beautifully. What a joy it was to be part of. Earlier in the term, we welcomed CAFOD volunteer Ann Neale, who led workshops and an assembly all about the Year of Hope and the customs which take place during a Jubilee Year. We pledged to work together for God’s kingdom of justice, peace and love.
