E-Bikes, such as Sur-Rons have been in the news a lot lately.

For some, they’re a hobby. For others, concerns centre on how and where they’re ridden.

Have you seen these bikes being used in your area? Has your experience been positive, or have you witnessed riding that made you concerned for someone’s safety?

From a road safety perspective, the conversation needs to consider everyone: riders, drivers, pedestrians and the wider community.

What do you think would make the biggest difference: better education for riders and parents, stronger enforcement against dangerous riding, or more dedicated places to ride safely?

Last week, some of the Moorgate team attended the National Safer Roads Partnerships Conference.

We had some really interesting discussions with people from across the road safety community. It was great to hear different perspectives on the challenges they’re seeing and the work being done to make our roads safer.

The sessions gave us plenty to think about too, particularly the changing picture around drug driving, developments in roadside testing and enforcement, and how the national road safety strategy could translate into action locally.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us. It was a valuable couple of days, as always. Here are a few photos from the event! 📸

🌡️☀️ STAY SAFE ON THE ROAD DURING A HEATWAVE☀️🌡️

With temperatures soaring throughout the UK this week, it's important to make sure both you and your vehicle are prepared before setting off.

Before you travel:
-Check your tyre pressures and tread
-Ensure coolant and oil levels are topped up
-Carry plenty of drinking water
-Plan regular breaks on longer journeys
-Keep sunglasses handy to reduce glare

⚠️ Never leave children, vulnerable passengers or pets in a parked vehicle, even for a few minutes.

Hot weather can increase the risk of driver fatigue and vehicle breakdowns, so take extra care and allow yourself plenty of time for your journey.

Stay cool, stay safe.
