🚔 YOUR LOCAL SNT – OUT AND ABOUT IN OUR COMMUNITIES! 🚔

It’s been a busy few weeks for the team, and we’ve loved getting out and about, meeting local residents and supporting events across our communities! 💙

Here’s a little look at what we’ve been up to:

👮‍♀️ Mickley HAF Emergency Services Day – We joined the young people for a fantastic emergency services day, where they had the chance to look around a police van and even try on some of our kit! 🚔

☕ Mickley Warm Spaces – We popped along to the Warm Spaces event for a catch-up, a cuppa and a chance to speak with members of the community.

🚓 Stonebroom HAF Emergency Services Day – Another brilliant day with the youngsters, taking along a police van and some of our equipment for them to explore.

🎡 Ashover Show – We were out enjoying the Ashover Show, meeting residents and having plenty of conversations with our local community.

🤝 Community Catch-Up – North Wingfield Resource Centre – A great opportunity to listen to local residents, hear about their concerns and discuss what matters to the community.

🚨 SNT Day of Action – We worked alongside our neighbouring beats to provide a highly visible presence across our local areas, tackling issues including off-road bikes and anti-social behaviour.

💙 Helping our colleagues in Grassmoor – We also gave Grassmoor SNT a helping hand, covering an event at Grassmoor Community Centre alongside DC Hibbert from our Local Policing Team.

A massive thank you to everyone who has taken the time to come and speak to us at these events. Your information, concerns and feedback genuinely help us understand what matters most in your communities. 💬

Our colleagues at Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service are at Clay Cross Active this evening, chatting all things On-Call Firefighter and answering any questions you might have about joining the team.

Having completed speed checks on Chesterfield Road between Higham and Shirland, we have noticed that there may be a little confusion as to what the speed limit is on this stretch of road.

This is actually a 30mph limit, and not 40mph, which was the case over two years ago. The 30mph starts from The Greyhound at Higham and continues on to Chesterfield Road, through the village of Shirland, towards Alfreton.

Safer Neighbourhood Team officers are continuing to monitor this stretch of road, please do not get caught out.

PCSO Morton will be at Morton Village Hall today at 10am for our first event, please drop by if you can.

After events with off road motor bikes on Sharley Park recently, we thought it would be a good idea to explain how a Section 59 works.

A Section 59 basically gives a Police Officer, or PCSO the power to seize any motor vehicle under the Police Reform Act 2002, for driving in anti social manner, that causes alarm and distress, or annoyance to the public. It applies to both the specific driver, and the vehicle for 12 months.

Your vehicle is in danger of being seized if the same driver or vehicle is caught driving antisocially. Your vehicle will be impounded resulting in costs to the vehicle owner.
It is also the discretion of the officer whether your vehicle is taken for a first Section 59 offence.

Police can also enter any premises to retrieve any vehicle believed to have been used in an anti social manner.

So, if you are the kind of person who likes to drive carelessly or inconsiderately on public roads, or ride off road across public spaces or parks or just likes to rev your engine creating unnecessary noise from your popping exhaust, then a Section 59 is one for you to be aware of.

Be Aware, No excuses. Your vehicle could end up on the back of a recovery truck ! 🚶🏻‍♂️

This will be rescheduled for next month.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, officers were unable to attend the Street Meet event at Shirland Village Hall today; due to being redeployed to another incident.

Officers will look to reschedule this at a later date.

It’s Tupton Summer Carnival Day !

Yesterday two of our officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team at Clay Cross were out on foot patrol in and around the Pilsley area.

PCSO Barnes and PCSO Browne enjoyed getting out into the countryside and taking in the views, as well as meeting some curious friends who wanted to check out what we were doing. 🐄

You may have seen us in areas such as:
- Clay Cross/Danesmoor
- Pilsley
- Lower Pilsley
- As well as surrounding trails and roads.

Our Safer Neighbourhood Team tries to carry out these patrols as often as possible, and will continue to do so between Police Incidents and other Operational Requirements.

If you do see any of our officers out and about in your area whilst out on patrol, do not be afraid to come and say hello as we all love to have a chat.
