🚨 Another day, another bike ride cut short… 🚨

On Tuesday 28th July 2026, our ANPR cameras in Newbold flagged a motorbike that was suspected of being cloned.

Not long afterwards, Derbyshire’s Force Proactive Team located the bike near a block of flats in the Old Whittington area. Officers quickly identified the rider, who has now been dealt with for a number of traffic offences.

But the story doesn’t end there…

While dealing with the incident, officers spotted two illegal e-bikes that had been seen the previous day, riding down the road. As neither had insurance, they were both given an all-expenses-paid trip to the police compound. 🚚

We are continuing to tackle the issue of illegal and off-road bikes across our communities. If you know where these bikes are being ridden or stored, we’d love the opportunity to hand the owner our favourite free gift… a seizure notice. 📄😉

If you have any information, please contact your local Safer Neighbourhood Team. Your information could help us keep these bikes off our roads and public spaces.

👮‍♀️ We are having multiple incidents regarding youths entering into the Duckmanton Hotel. 👮‍♀️

This is private property and is in a derelict state. This building is not safe to be entering.

⛔ Keep out, or you could face police action - not to mention, you could get yourself hurt.⛔

We are working with the local Council and the landowner to ensure this building remains secure.

After attending the opening of the Woodthorpe Community Liaison Garden on 4th July 2026, it was really disappointing to learn that the garden had been vandalised over the weekend, with plants being stolen and the pond damaged.

Volunteers have spent their own time creating the garden for local residents to enjoy.
