Abercrombie Primary School and Nursery

Today, Y6 went to Queen's Park to make promotional videos to advertise the Children's Festival in July. They dressed the part, in high-vis vests and hard hats and brought out their inner thespians.
We followed this by a good old fashioned play in the park, cricket and football in the sun!

🤼 Sports for Champions 🤼‍♀️
Our visit from Danoush Jowkar today was a massive success!
We were inspired by the story of his life and training, then encouraged to eat well and exercise regularly.
He also did a great demonstration of some of his training skills before each class completed their fitness circuit, from Year 6 to Reception.
We have now raised over £1,800 as a school and are so grateful for all of your support with this, which will go towards new lunchtime sports equipment.
Prizes for fundraising will be sent out when they arrive in school next week.

🏃‍♂️ Sports Day 2026 🏃‍♀️
Thank you to all children, parents, staff, helpers, and the FoA for making Sports Day happen for Infant and Junior children today!
The children were incredible, both in their attitudes and their efforts in everything they did and we are very proud of them.

🌳 Year 2 Forest Schools 🌲
A great day in the woods with year 2: playing in base camp, exploring the ‘dragon caves’, using some tools, building dens, having a picnic lunch then a a scenic walk up to the stream for a paddle!

As a part of our Y6 topic (Climate Change), we have completed a DT project using recycled, plastic bottles. As you can see, we have created some fabulous designs. 🏅

We had a visit from the Book Bus today and it was a great success. There was a wide variety of books available, at amazing prices. Not only this, but the prices of all books sold were added up and then we were given 15% of this to get books for school! ♥️
