***Sycamore and Oak Class are participating in a fabulous opportunity!***

Russell Hobbs have teamed up with Action Against Hunger and launched a "Plates for Change" competition. Over the next few days children will be coming home with competition entry forms. All they need to do is design a plate that will raise awareness of world hunger.

The competition deadline is 11th March so all children entering the competition need to have their forms, signed by their grown up, returned to Mrs Fairest BEFORE March 11th.

Competition prizes are:

1st prize: An ice-cream maker, £100 supermarket voucher, printed plate with your design and a REAL chef visiting your school!

Runners up (x2): a printed plate with your design!

Gardening Club assemble!!

What a wonderful assembly this morning with Mr Wright! The children have learnt all about how schools have changed over the years in Temple Normanton and the fantastic discovery of coal at Bonds Main and how that tranformed our amazing village.

We had a very exciting assembly this morning with Gareth from Killingley about an even more exciting opportunity.

So wonderful to see which of our children belong to a uniformed organisation, like brownies and cubs 💛 celebrating 100 years of World Thinking Day 🌍 thank you to those of you who took part 🫶🏻

Huge congratulations to these four SUPERSTARS for being the first children in school to achieve 100 dojos 🥳 we are so proud of you, keep it up 💪🏼

To round off our fabulous Space topic this half term, Oak Class ventured to the National Space Centre in Leicester. They started the day off by exploring the different interactive rooms starting with the Solar System, then The Universe, Home Planet and Into Space.
Following this, they visited the UK’s biggest planetarium (Sir Patrick Moore Planetarium). The children were blown away, journeying through the solar system, visiting the different planets and learning some amazing facts – some they didn’t know.
Finally, we visited the iconic Rocket Tower. This is home to Blue Streak and Thor Able rockets, as well as the Gagarin Experience, Apollo Lunar Lander and real Moon Rock. The four exhibition decks tell the story of the Space Race, history of rockets as well as Britain’s Space Race.
This was an out-of-this-world school trip that has helped inspire the next generation of space scientists and engineers at Temple Normanton Primary Academy. Everyone had such a fantastic day and represented the school brilliantly! 😊
