Huge congratulations to Lottie, who won a bronze medal in the Year 9 Girls' Long Jump at the English Schools' Athletics Championships in Birmingham.
Representing Derbyshire Schools, Lottie produced a fantastic jump of 5.55m to secure an outstanding third-place finish in one of the most prestigious school athletics competitions in the country.
After delving into the archives, we believe this may be the first time a Springwell student has ever won a medal at the National Schools Championships – making this achievement even more special.
We are incredibly proud of Lottie. Not only is she an exceptional athlete, but she remains as humble and grounded as ever despite her remarkable success. She is a fantastic ambassador for both Derbyshire and Springwell and this achievement is thoroughly deserved.
Congratulations, Lottie – a truly historic achievement! 🎉🥉🏃♀️👏

Ex student and League 1 Professional Footballer, Josh Ayres came back to Springwell to donate one of his football shirts to the PE Dept.
Currently at Rotherham United, he has played 5 games for the first team this season and has been on successful loans to Sheffield FC and Alfreton Town. When he was at Springwell, he was a multiple county champion at Indoor Rowing, borough champion at Athletics and Cross Country, a Golden Peg winner and has been inducted into our Hall of Fame for representing Springwell in over 30 school competitions.
An absolute pleasure to teach, down to earth, hardworking and he deserves all the success that has come his way so far. We are incredibly proud of his achievements! Good luck for the future, Josh, we will be monitoring your progress closely, especially if he plays against Chesterfield next season
