OK so I have cried a little 😭😭😭
Today was the last time I got to say goodbye to my little bears 😭 my doors have now closed for good 🥺
I have had the best time being a childminder and helping little ones become intelligent, confident, happy, independent children ❤️💙
I want to thank all the parents I've worked with over the years for trusting me to care for your children.
Thank you to my family and friends for supporting me when I needed it 💙❤️
Thank you to my children for sharing their mum!
I wish everyone all the best for the future and if you can stay in touch!

Unfortunately I have made the decision to close Claire Bears Corner as of 22nd July. I would like to personally thank all of the families who have trusted both me and Courtney to care for your children for the past 8 years, I couldn't have done this without your trust and support, but the time has come for me to move on! It will be strange not having little ones around every day when it's all I've known for this long!!!

World book day 2022
Elmer the Elephant!
I love this book and I love the activities that we can do around this book!
Elmer teaches us that everyone has something unique to bring the table and there's no point trying to disguise your true self. Always be yourself, especially if you are a multicoloured elephant.
The bears had fun today creating their own colourful elephant after listening to the story # # #

Pancake day!!!! After school snack for everyone today and it went down a treat! One of the little bears even had an extra helping!! 🍌🍓🫐🥞
Then there's my bear that won't touch fruit 🤣🙈

So proud of one of our little bears today!! Identifying the biggest shape and the smallest shape, all of the colours and counting to 10 independently during play!! So much maths was displayed in just a couple of simple activities!!

Maths through Play

To many adults, the words Maths and Play have absolutely nothing to do with each other. For many of us, maths was a torture, something we had to do, and something we didn’t understand and couldn’t do. Play on the other hand was something we loved.
Young children are learning maths all the time through a wide variety of play experiences. From the time they are born, babies are surrounded by sense impressions. Shapes in particular are of immediate importance: babies react instinctively to the arrangement of shapes which make up the human face.
In the home, in parent and toddler groups, and pre-school settings, children have many opportunities to enjoy and learn Maths through Play.
Play is an effective vehicle for fostering Mathematical concepts and developing positive attitudes to mathematics…

Unfortunately I have some sad news to share with you all..
Courtney has decided that she will be leaving us to follow a different career path which is good for her but sad for us all here at Claire Bears 😞
Courtney has been my rock and we've had some really fun times with the children. We've had good days and bad days, we've been wet through on school runs and sunburnt in the summer (we always forget cream for ourselves!)
Courtney will be leaving us on the 11th March along with some of our little bears as due to ratios I cannot care for more than 3 children under 5 on my own so I've had some really difficult decisions to make 😭😭😭
I would like to wish Courtney all the best in whatever she decides to do moving forward # # # # # #

If you go down to the woods today......
It's been a long time since we went into the woods, so today with 2 little bears off we went!! We've kicked and thrown leaves, walked with sticks, found horse hoof prints and lots of horse p**p!! We've listened to the birds singing and tried to see if we could see any squirrels. We saw what looks like a bat box (I might be wrong). We have seen the start of some flowers coming through and the amazing carved trees.
We have really enjoyed being out doing something different xx

Last day!!!
So today I took 2 of the children on a trip out!
We braved the cold and went into town on the search for Santa (and to do a bit of Claires shopping she had forgotten about!!) One of the children wrote a letter to Santa, posted it and watched it as it whisked its way to the North Pole!
After we walked through all the beautifully decorated trees and lights and at the end of it the big man himself was waiting for us!! We had a lovely chat about how well behaved the children had been and if they were excited for Christmas morning! After that Santa said that they could pick a present any present out of his toy chest!! A fluffy pink flamingo it was 🤣🤣
After we said goodbye to Santa we called into Greg's for a warm and a gingerbread man! Then we came home in time for lunch and a nap!! (Well the children did not me 🤣)
Courtney and I would like to wish all our families past and present a very Merry Christmas! We hope you have a wonderful break and enjoy time together! Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back in the new year! # # #
