We will be dressed up for Halloween on Friday 30th October. (if your little one attends on a different day, please feel free to dress up on their day/s that week)

..AUTUMN VIBES....

Week Commencing 12th October

We will be celebrating all things Autumn. Come dressed in all your cosy Autumnal clothes (Please be mindful we will still be taking part in creative, outdoors and messy play) Reds, Oranges, creams, browns, beige’s, greens... be cosy and comfy, and fluffy slippers all welcome!

Harvest festival, our food collection this year will be in porch... please feel free to add your items such as sealed toiletries, nappies, tins and packet food and we will donate these to the local food bank in the coming weeks.

🌾harvest festival!🌾
This week in toddlers we have been following a theme of harvest festival. Our activity this week was to create our own fruit salad. First, we cut up our melon using the child safe knife. We used our fine motor skills to hold the knife and carefully cut the fruit into pieces. We then carried on cutting the strawberries, apples, oranges and mango.
It was very yummy!😋

🍂🦔 Autumn Adventures in Preschool! 🦔🍂
What a wonderful, autumn-filled week we’ve had in Preschool! 🍁 We have been exploring all things Autumn through lots of exciting, hands-on activities and sensory play.

🍲 We made our very own autumn soup using natural ingredients.
🧪 We created pumpkin potions and enjoyed lots of imaginative play.
🎨 We made autumnal playdough and used a variety of natural materials to explore textures and shapes. We added lots of different spices and the playdough smelt amazing😊
🍂 We enjoyed leaf rubbing, discovering the different patterns and textures of the leaves.
🌳 We made our own autumn trees, using leaves we collected from our garden.
🦔 And this afternoon, we’re getting creative and making playdough hedgehogs!

It has been a lovely week of exploring, creating, getting messy and learning about the beautiful changes that happen during Autumn. 🍁🧡

Nursery Rhyme Week 🎶🎹🪇🥁

Last week the Orchid babies had such a fun week exploring their theme of nursery rhymes. The children took part in lots of signing, dancing and play with the musical instruments. Each day we set out various activities based around some of our favourite nursery rhymes.

The children loved using our new finger puppets, encouring them to role play and have a go a singing songs linked to the different characters. Throughout the week we found our children learning lots of new words, expanding their vocabulary and even trying out new actions as they danced along. We played our favourite ‘what’s in the bag’ game which encouraged the children to practice turn taking as they waited to reveal an object from the bag and matching it with a song. Some of the babies were very good at recognising what the objects were and even stated phrases from the song.

Welcome to Ruby who joined us this week for the new term. Ruby will be working towards her level 3 and has so far being amazing working in both toddlers and preschool Rooms.

In her spare time, Ruby enjoys socialising with family and her many Pets keep her busy, including her Dog, Alfie, hamster, gerbil's and a Gekko.
