Our Story

Hello! My name is Jodie and I am the very proud head of Jodie’s DanceStars Performance Group. My wonderful school started out back in 2015 and I am very pleased to say we’ve been growing ever since. Jodie’s DanceStars is a small non-profit dance school for children aged 6+ through to adults. Boys and Girls are both welcome! Dance classes are held every Monday 4.30-8pm at Old Whittington social club, Chesterfield. All profits from the classes go towards room hire and buying props and equipment for the school. The aim of my classes is to give children the opportunity to attend dance classes without the expense of exams, uniforms, and costumes. I have experienced the cost (and stress) of professional dancing first hand as I have been dancing from the age of 5... Here at DanceStars I teach tap, ballet, gymnastics, modern dance/stagecraft and street/disco. Throughout the year we work on improving our dancing technique and abilities and even harder on putting together a big stage show which we perform every Christmas for our families and friends. We also take part in various galas and events through the year including Old whitington gala! Our shows are budget friendly yet very professional. We perform dances to hit songs and west end musicals and teamed with fantastic choreography and costumes it really is a showstopper every year! So if your child has an interest in dance and would like to make lots of new friends, bring them along! We enrol between January and March and classes are £4. I look forward to dancing with you!
