Children 1st Chesterfield Nursery School

06/10/2026

Last week was Good Neighbour week and as part of this our Early years children walked over to the hospital to deliver some flowers. They then walked down to our nursery at St Children 1st St Peter & St Pauls where they made some new friends and delivered some flowers to the team and explored their environment.

Everyone had a lovely afternoon 🥰 💐

National Baby-Led Weaning Day 💛

Baby-led weaning gives children the opportunity to explore food independently, helping to build confidence, support fine motor development and encourage a positive relationship with food from the very start.

We know that every family's weaning journey is different. That's why we take time during the settling-in process to understand each family's preferences and chosen approach. Whether parents opt for baby-led weaning, purées or a combination of both, it's always led by parental choice, with our nursery teams there to provide support every step of the way.

Through close partnerships with families, we create positive mealtime experiences where children can safely explore a variety of tastes and textures at their own pace. As they do, they're developing independence, self-confidence and important skills that support their wider learning and development.

Choosing the right nursery is a big decision, and feeling confident in your child’s safety matters every step of the way.

Every day, we focus on creating calm, nurturing spaces where children feel safe, supported, and ready to explore their world 💛

Our Early years children have had a wonderful afternoon celebrating their Dad's and Grandad's.
We hope they enjoyed it as much as we did.

We would like to wish a Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad's, Grandad's and Father figures 💙
