Just letting all of my clients know that I have accepted a full time teaching role that will start on 1st April. This will affect a handful of my students but I absolutely want to prioritise my time for my Year 11 students and those with upcoming exams. Any slots that take place before 4:30pm will be directly affected. And if your child is not sitting exams, they may also be affected until the exam period is over mid June. I hope you understand why I have to make these changes and I fully understand if you want to source other tutoring services due to the disruption.

And this is exactly why I do what I do! When I get feedback like this it absolutely warms my heart and makes me proud of my decision to step away from mainstream teaching.
I love the challenge of getting through to students who would otherwise be missing out and new opportunities are in the pipeline for me at the moment!

Thank you to all my followers and Happy New Year!!
I can’t wait to get back to doing some maths, I’ve missed it after a hectic Christmas holiday! 😁

2026 will hopefully bring some fantastic results! November exam results are out soon! 🤞🏻📆

I’ll also be starting a Level 5 course on Dyscalculia and Maths Anxiety which will help me to support those who find numbers a challenge and give me some strategies for explaining things in different ways. 🤓

I’m fully booked too which is fantastic (netball has taken the hit on that one!) but I hope to get out and do some face to face group sessions in Broughton in May when exam season starts.

Overall, I’m really looking forward to 2026!! 🤩

👩🏼‍🏫 A bit about me…👩🏼‍🏫
I have been a maths teacher for 17 years starting my career down in Somerset after training in Bath and then moving back home to Broughton. I’ve worked in schools in both Wales and England and worked my way up to being a Head of Department. I’ve marked GCSE maths papers for WJEC and AQA and have tutored on and off for about 8 years. Now I have stepped away from teaching in mainstream secondary schools and I am focusing on one-to-one tutoring. My after school slots have been filled pretty quickly by students from Year 6 to 6th form, which is fantastic! I have been spending some time in the days working with students who struggle to access their education in a mainstream environment. I find it so rewarding to educate these young people who really deserve the chance to develop their skills in mathematics. ➕➖➗✖️🟰
I’d love to keep tutoring full time as it is the best feeling when a student achieves something they never could in school, and I fully understand how hard it is for teachers (including myself) to teach a class of 30+ varying-in-ability individuals and the many challenges and restrictions schools now face. I want to work with them to support as many students as I can! 😊
When I’m not doing maths, you will find me on a netball court, usually umpiring! 🏐
