That's why our sessions are designed to help children feel comfortable from the moment they arrive. Through fun games, teamwork and small group activities, friendships begin naturally and confidence starts to grow.

First, we focus on creating a space where every child feels safe, included and encouraged to have a go.

When people think of drama classes, they often imagine children learning lines for a performance.

At HSPA, there's so much more to it.

Every session is carefully planned to help children:
• Build confidence at their own pace.
• Develop communication skills.
• Make genuine friendships.
• Learn through creativity and play.
• Feel safe to try something new.

Our small groups mean every child is seen, encouraged and given the opportunity to grow,whether they're naturally confident or a little more reserved.

Sometimes it's the little changes that mean the most.

One of the best parts of teaching drama is hearing what parents notice after class.

It's not usually about putting on a performance.

Instead, they tell me things like:

✨ "They couldn't stop talking about class all evening."
✨ "They were much happier to join in."
✨ "They seemed so proud of themselves."
✨ "They're already asking when they can come back."

Confidence isn't built overnight, but it grows through encouragement, trying new things and feeling part of a supportive group.

That's exactly what we aim to create at HSPA.

Starting something new can feel like a big step, for both children and parents.

One of the questions I'm asked most is:

"What happens in the first class?"

The answer is simple...

There are no auditions, no pressure to perform and no expectation that children have any previous drama experience.

Week one is all about helping everyone feel comfortable.

We'll play fun drama games, get moving, learn each other's names and start building confidence in a relaxed, supportive environment.

By the end of the session, my hope is that every child leaves feeling like they've made a new friend and can't wait to come back the following Friday.
