✨ Goodbye and Good Luck, Year 6! ✨
We said farewell to our gorgeous Year 6 class this afternoon. They treated us to a wonderful Leavers’ Service with the whole school and their parents. They sung some super special songs, shared their favourite memories of primary school and took a trip down memory lane watching a video created by the parents. Looking back over the last 7 years, it is clear to see how wonderful each and every pupil is and always has been. May they take their curious minds, wisdom, talents and compassion into high school with them.
Remember: Once a marigold, always a marigold!
Good luck in your new chapters, Year 6. We will miss you all!

Today marks Mrs. Harvey's final day at Guilden Sutton - a bitter sweet occasion. We will all miss her enormously but she has so many more adventures waiting for her.
In a very special Collective Worship for a very special lady, all year groups paid tribute to the creative, positive and compassionate teacher whom everyone will miss. We shed a tear and had a dance to celebrate the incredible impact Mrs. Harvey has had on countless people.
HUGE thanks and best wishes for your retirement, we won't forget you in a hurry! A true marigold indeed!

Mr. Hughes came into Year 6 this morning to give the children their leavers' gifts from the Parish Council. They were given the choice of some of our recommended reads and the Parish Council bought them all a book of their choice! We would like to thank them for their lovely gesture and special thanks to Mr. Hughes for his continued support with Year 6 throughout the year.

Year 6 spent the day creating their very own Brazilian carnival masks, inspired by the vibrance of the carnival! They designed a mask with a link to Brazil or the carnival and used paint, feathers and glitter to bring their designs to life. They also learnt about the Brazilian dance/martial art of ‘capoeira’, which some of the children had previously tried. Those children were great at passing on their knowledge and we ended the day with a big dance using the moves we’d learnt – a very fun day indeed!

This morning, Year 3 went to Bishops High School to make our own Egyptian bread (linking with our current history unit and DT project). Recently, we researched the flavours and ingredients which would have been used during the Ancient Egypt times (honey, dates, fennel seeds, garlic, herbs etc.). We had fun making our own bread and shaping the dough by hand to create our own unique designs and flavours.
A big thank to Mrs. Lubbe and Mrs. Williams (from the Food and Nutrition Department) for leading this great session as well as other staff from Bishops and parents for transporting us to and from school.

What a wonderful Leavers' Service we had this morning at St John's Church!
Year 5 and Year 6 pupils were joined by parents and enjoyed singing, prayers, a Bible story and sharing their hopes and wishes. Children were reminded that they are like marigolds that continue to flourish long after they have left Guilden Sutton and that they help those around them to be strong and courageous too.
Year 5 children gifted each Year 6 pupil a wooden cross to take with them on the next chapter in their lives. ✝

This afternoon, Year 5 pupils enjoyed two Computing sessions to consolidate their learning over this term. They worked in groups to plan a storyboard before using iPads to record their own stop-motion animation, which was then shared with the class.
Afterwards, they experimented with pitch and tempo to create their own songs using Chrome Music Lab.
