Year 6 pupils used child-friendly search engines to research William Harvey and Claudius Galen and their contributions to our knowledge today of the circulatory system. Children sorted this information into a table to compare them. They then enjoyed reviewing all their scientific knowledge of the circulatory system with a Kahoot multiple-choice quiz in pairs.

This week, Year 1 have been learning how to sequence instructions by writing the steps for making a jam sandwich for the Hoctopize’s party! We then wrote our own instructions, making sure our steps were clear and in the correct order. Fantastic work, Year 1!

Today, Key Stage 2 pupils were treated to an assembly by Amber and Jo’el from Cheshire Phoenix Basketball. The children have been invited to a ‘match day clinic’ in October when Cheshire Phoenix will play against the London Lions in the Super League Basketball. This ties in with basketball coaching and games beforehand. Letters will be going home this week and children will be able to sign up for it if they so wish.

This morning, in Year 2, we reread the start of our class text, Paddington, but not as we know it. We all know and love the version where Paddington was found by Mr and Mrs. Brown at Paddington Station but this version was different - Mr and Mrs. Brown didn’t see Paddington and he was left all alone at Paddington Station.

We explored maps of London to find places that Paddington could go to and we made predictions about what could happen to him when he was there. What great preparation for starting to plan our own Paddington stories!
