A little Year 11 availability update ✨

We're getting quite full for this academic year, particularly for our Year 11 students, but we do still have a handful of spaces for anyone looking for some extra support.

Current availability:
📚 English - Tuesday 6pm
➗ Maths - Wednesday 7pm or Thursday 4pm,
🧬 Biology - Wednesday 5pm
🧪 Chemistry - Wednesday 6pm
🛰️ Physics - Thursday 7pm,

We have a mixture of one-to-one and small group spaces, with our groups always kept to a maximum of four.

Sessions can be whatever the student needs that week - going back over something that didn't quite make sense in school, filling gaps, working ahead, exam practice, or simply having a quieter space to ask questions and build confidence.

No two days here ever look quite the same.

This morning I met a home-ed parent with an anxious student. The office was quiet, so there was no pressure to start working - just time to explore, look around and get comfortable with the space.

By the afternoon, our usual home-ed students start arriving. There's friendly chatter as they come in, say hello to their peers and tutors and settle down to work. It's a lovely, calm environment, with different subjects happening at the same time - all chosen around the interests and goals of each learner.

Then this evening, the office changes again. Our after-school students arrive and we start with:
How's your week been? What are you doing in school? Anything you didn't understand? Shall we go over it, or get ahead with something new?

Our normal day runs from 10am–8pm, and somehow it flies by.

Different students, different circumstances and different goals. Hour by hour, we meet them where they are and work from there.

And that's probably my favourite thing about what we do. 💙

I receive emails like this all the time.

Companies offering to “streamline” our tuition, maximise efficiency and, ultimately, increase profits. Turning our teaching materials into AI videos.

But that completely missed the point of what we do. The best part of one-to-one tuition is the one-to-one.

Sitting across from a student. Asking how their week has been. Realising they haven’t understood something. Explaining it again- and again, if necessary, in different ways. Changing the plan because they need something different that day. Getting to know them well enough to understand how they learn.

I find it quite sad that any of that could be viewed as a “time drain” to be eliminated.

Replacing human interaction to make tuition more “efficient”?! Absolutely not.

We’ll be here, face to face, at the table with them. 💙

That’s not the inefficient part of tuition. That’s the best part.

Small group sessions with a qualified teacher who understands home ed.

Just book the sessions you want and pay as you go.
🧪 Science – Tuesdays 11–12
➗ Maths – Wednesdays 11–12
📚 English – Thursdays 11–12
Maximum 4 students per group, aimed at Year 10.

A lovely message to receive this morning 💙

This student only joined us shortly before the summer, and it has been so lovely to see how far he has already come.

He’s engaging brilliantly, growing in confidence and, most importantly, enjoying learning again.

One of the things we really value with our home educated students is giving them a voice in their own education. There doesn’t have to be one set route or timeline. We can talk together about what they want to achieve, which subjects they want to study, when they feel ready to sit their exams, and how we can help them get to where they want to be.

For some students, simply having that bit of choice and control can make such a difference.

He’s going from strength to strength, and receiving this message from his parent this morning was such a lovely reminder of why we do what we do. 💙

Education doesn’t have to look the same for everyone.

📚 New subjects for Home Ed at Tailored Tuition!

We’re really excited to be expanding our home education provision this academic year, with even more subjects joining our timetable.

Alongside our existing Maths, English and Science provision, home-ed students can now access:

🌟 Astronomy
🌟 Psychology
🌟 Sociology
🌟 Geography
🌟 History
🌟 Music

We’ve always wanted Tailored Tuition to be somewhere home-educated young people can access more than just the core subjects.

Whether a student wants to build a broad programme of GCSEs, add a subject they’re really interested in, or simply explore something new, we want to be able to offer them that choice.

Students can study one subject with us or build a bespoke programme across several, with one-to-one tuition and small groups of no more than four.

We’re really pleased with how much our home-ed provision has grown – and we’re excited to be able to offer more subjects, more choice and more opportunities this year.

Results Day is nearly here! 🎉🤞

A little throwback to last year’s Results Day… and what a morning it was! 🥹❤️ We were so incredibly proud of our students - there were plenty of smiles, celebrations and definitely a few happy tears!

To all of our students collecting results this Thursday, we’ll be at the office from 9:30–11:30am and would absolutely love you to pop in and tell us how you’ve done!

We know how much hard work has gone into getting to this point, and we’re already incredibly proud of every one of you.

Fingers crossed for Thursday! 🤞🍀 We can’t wait to see you and hear your results! ❤️

I’ve been meaning to share these photos for weeks, but I’m not sure I’ve ever quite found the words ❤️

When we decided to organise a Home Ed Prom, I hoped it would be a lovely evening.

I didn’t realise quite how much it would mean.

I spoke to young people who genuinely believed they would never have a prom. For some, their experience of secondary school had been incredibly difficult. Some had left mainstream education years earlier. Some had taken a completely different path to get to the same finishing line.

And I think that’s why the evening felt so special.

It wasn't about recreating a typical school path.

It was about giving them the ending they deserved.

Watching them arrive dressed up, seeing friendships being made, hearing the room get louder as everyone relaxed, and eventually seeing a packed dance floor was something I’ll remember for a very long time.

There was a real feeling of we made it.

And they had.

They had made it through GCSEs, through difficult days, through changes of plan and paths they probably never expected to take.
That deserved celebrating.

So, very belatedly, here are some of the photos from our first Home Ed Prom. ❤️

And I’m very happy to say our first definitely won’t be our last.
We’re going to make this an annual event, and I already can’t wait to do it all again.

To every young person who came: thank you for trusting us with such an important night.

I hope, when you look back at these photos, you remember just how much you had to be proud of. ✨

A few remaining mock exam sessions, with groups of no more than four students. That means plenty of individual support, a realistic exam experience, and detailed feedback from tutors who know the 11+ inside out.

These are the only remaining dates this summer, with just one or two spaces left:
- Thursday 30th July,
- Thursday 6th August,
- Tuesday 18th August,
- Tuesday 25th August,
- Thursday 27th August,
