KS3 Product Design – What a Year! 🛠️✨
What a fantastic year it has been in KS3 Product Design! We are incredibly proud of the creativity, enthusiasm and practical skills shown by all of our pupils. Here are just some of the amazing final outcomes from this year’s projects:
🎮 Year 7 designed and manufactured their own handheld game, mastering the use of mitre joints.
💡 Year 8 created a stylish LED light, learning how to produce finger joints and solder their very own electronic circuits.
🔑 Year 9 designed and pewter cast their own personalised keyrings, showcasing excellent creativity and craftsmanship.
It has been wonderful to watch everyone’s confidence and manufacturing skills develop throughout the year. Well done to all our pupils for their hard work, resilience and fantastic effort.
Have a brilliant summer, and we can’t wait to see what you’ll create next year!

A group of our talented mathematicians recently travelled by train to the University of South Wales to compete in a More Able and Talented Maths competition hosted by SEREN. The students travelled down on Monday and enjoyed an evening of bowling before taking part in the competition on Tuesday. They competed against 13 other teams on the day, with the wider national competition involving 178 teams from 38 schools. The event also included other North Wales teams from Ysgol Aberconwy, Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi and Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy, who were crowned the overall winners.
A particular highlight was hearing from renowned mathematician and author Simon Singh, who delivered an inspiring talk. Our students performed extremely well throughout the competition and conducted themselves impeccably during the journey, evening activities and event itself. They were excellent representatives of the school, and we are very proud of them.
