We're looking for a Playworker to join our friendly team, supporting children in our Breakfast Club, Afterschool Club and Holiday Club from September 2026.

✨ What we're looking for:

🌳 A caring, enthusiastic and reliable individual
🪴Childcare or Playwork qualifications are welcomed, but not essential
🌿 Full training will be provided for the right candidate

📅 Role details:

* 18 hours per week during Flintshire school term time
* Additional hours may be available
* Holiday Club cover for up to 5–6 weeks each year
* Pay in line with National Living Wage, with enhanced pay scales for relevant qualifications

Goodbye, Bethan! 💚

Today we say goodbye to a fantastic member of staff. We will be incredibly sad to see Bethan leave Little Acorns, but we know she is moving on to exciting new opportunities and we wish her every success.

Over the last three years, Bethan has made a huge impact across both our playgroup and wraparound sessions. Her kindness, dedication and enthusiasm have meant so much to our children, families and team, and she will be greatly missed. The children absolutely adore her, and we're so grateful for everything she has done for Little Acorns.

We'll be sharing updates soon about our new Childcare Lead, who will be joining us from September. Until then, we'd like to say a heartfelt thank you to Bethan for all of her hard work and support over the past three years, and wish her every happiness in her next adventure.

P.S. It's not quite goodbye yet! Bethan will still be joining us during our Summer Holiday Club, so there are plenty more smiles and memories to come before she officially heads off. 💚

This exciting role will involve leading our Early Entitlement, Playgroup and Wraparound Care sessions, helping to create a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment where children can flourish.

✨ What we’re looking for:
✔ Level 3 (or above) Childcare qualification
✔ At least 2 years’ experience delivering Early Entitlement education
✔ Leadership or managerial experience in a childcare setting
✔ Excellent communication and organisational skills
✔ A team player who loves creativity, outdoor play, messy activities and making learning fun!

🕒 Hours:
Monday–Friday | 8:45am – 3:15pm (term time)
Plus up to 6 weeks Holiday Club cover

💷 Salary:
From £14.50 per hour
(Negotiable depending on experience)

🌈 The Role Includes:
• Leading and supporting staff
• Delivering engaging play-based learning
• Building strong relationships with children and families
• Ensuring compliance with safeguarding and Care Inspectorate Wales standards
• Helping shape exciting experiences for children every day

🕒 18 hours per week (term time)
➕ Potential for additional days/hours
📅 Holiday club work available during selected school holidays

We would love to hear from applicants who have:
✔ A CIW recognised Childcare Level 2 (or higher) or Playwork Qualification
✔ A passion for working with children in a fun and supportive environment
✔ A positive and flexible attitude

(If you hold a childcare qualification, transition training to Playwork will be required.)

💷 Pay in line with NMS/NLW, with a pay scale in place for relevant qualifications.
