On the final day of term, we were delighted to welcome former pupil Sophie Crompton back to speak with our learners about her career journey in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry. Sophie shared her experiences working with Magnum Ice Cream at Unilever, providing valuable insight into the wide range of opportunities available within this exciting sector. It was inspiring for our learners to hear first-hand about her career path. She took a couple of years out to work a ski season and at Camp America, with children with disabilities and used the skills she developed to get on the very competitive Graduate Scheme. A huge thank you to Sophie for giving up her time to return and inspire the next generation. We wish her continued success in her career!

Entry forms for Teens Read Two can also be picked up from our Learning Hub. Take a photo of your completed form before you hand it in at your local library, show it in the Hub on 3rd or 4th September and you will also be entered in a school prize draw!!
Teens Read Two is the brand-new reading challenge for young people aged 11–17 years.
The format is simple and flexible: read two books (they can be any eBook, eAudiobook, or a library book) over the summer and share a short review of each to complete the challenge, either online or via the flyer available at all libraries. Those who take part will be entered into a prize draw, with one lucky winner receiving a £50 book voucher.
It’s a great way for teens to stay engaged with reading, discover new titles and have the chance to win a fantastic prize along the way!
