ELC Chester, established in 1976, is an English language school with a world-wide reputation for quality. We are a team of professional and caring people dedicated to providing a first class experience for every student. The school has an excellent nationality mix and is known for the personal attention it provides both in and out of the classroom. There is a wonderful range of courses to suit different age groups and students with different needs. These include:

*General English (with a range of afternoon options to match your needs and interests)
*Examination Courses (IELTS, FCE and CAE)
*The 25+ Course: English for Everyday Life and the Workplace (an intensive, highly practical, needs-driven course)
*The 25+ Combination Course (combining small group classes with 1:1 lessons)
*Vacation Course for Teenagers (a fun summer programme for 14-17 year olds)
*50+ Language Holiday (English language and culture with excursions and activities included)

We are located in the historic, beautiful and quintessentially English city of Chester where it is easy to meet friendly English people and quickly feel at home. Our students love Chester and have lots to see and do in their spare time. This is a city where the most complete Roman amphitheatre in Britain is opposite one of the coolest nightclubs in the region. Just a few minutes from the school you can find many fashionable boutiques, cafes, restaurants and bars in historic medieval buildings. We are very close to beautiful countryside and larger, bustling cities (Liverpool and Manchester). We offer exceptionally high-standard accommodation in both home-stay and residence. Our social programme is also a very important and much appreciated part of school life. Our excursions and activities are designed to activate your English while you have fun and learn about English life and culture.

🔐 ESCAPE ROOM SUCCESS! 🗝️🎉

Our students put their English, teamwork and problem-solving skills to the test in an exciting escape room challenge!

There were clues to solve, puzzles to crack and plenty of teamwork needed… but they did it!

Well done everyone on successfully escaping! Another experience shared with our international ELC Chester family!

☕️🫖 A Very British Experience! 🇬🇧

Our students enjoyed a traditional English cream tea, complete with delicious scones, tea and, of course, a little lesson in British etiquette! 🍓🍰

The highlight? A masterclass on how to properly lift their pinkies! 🤭☕

Learning English is so much more than lessons in the classroom. It’s about discovering British culture, making friends from around the world and enjoying unforgettable experiences together.

A little tea, a lot of laughter, and some very elegant pinkies! 💅🇬🇧

We were delighted to welcome back former student Ahmed to ELC Chester! ❤️

Ahmed studied with us a few years ago, and it was fantastic to see him return and share how much his life has changed since his time in Chester.

During his time at ELC, Ahmed made huge progress with his English, and today he is working as an NHS Inspector!

Stories like Ahmed's remind us why we love what we do. Our students don't just leave with improved English, they leave with new experiences, confidence, friendships and opportunities that can last a lifetime.

Thank you for coming back to see us, Ahmed! It was wonderful to see you and hear about your journey.

Once part of the ELC family, always part of the ELC family!
