🎪 From Hammond to Las Vegas and Los Angeles! 🇺🇸

What a summer adventure for Year 8 student Abigail, who has returned from an incredible week training with professional youth circus company Le Petit Cirque in Las Vegas, followed by her first professional circus performance in Los Angeles.

During an action-packed week, Abigail trained with leading international professionals across circus, choreography, contortion, acrobatics and aerial performance. Her experiences included:

✨ Movement and choreography with Akasia Ruthy, whose credits include Janet Jackson, Madonna, P!nk and Jennifer Lopez
🎪 Learning from Cirque du Soleil veteran Mark Pawsey and enjoying a private backstage tour of Mystère
🤸 Training in Mongolian contortion, hand balancing and acrobatic gymnastics with internationally renowned coaches
🎭 Developing her aerial, acting and improvisation skills
🎬 Meeting US casting director Susan Salgado and performing an improvised trapeze showcase
🌟 Making her professional circus debut in Los Angeles, performing as part of Le Petit Cirque for an exclusive private event

And there was just enough time before flying home for Abigail to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame star of Hammond alumna Michelle Yeoh – a rather special reminder of where a Hammond training can lead!

Abigail is now officially a Le Petit Cirque UK artist, with the company planning future performances across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

She reflected that her Hammond training helped her stand out, particularly the discipline, work ethic and strong foundations in acting, singing and dance that she has developed at school.
