At Mollington Preschool, Our aim is to provide a safe stimulating environment for our children to thrive. We run term time only, we take children from two.

We offer an open door policy so please pop in to say hello. The Pre-School dates back to 1967 with a small group of like minded parents living locally in Mollington under the guise of a Playgroup. Gradually the group grew and in 1998 the Mollington Playgroup parents elected to re-name the group "Mollington Pre School" to reflect the fact that it followed the National Curriculum Guidelines for Earl

β€œBig bugs, little bugs, bugs everywhere!” πŸ›πŸ¦‹πŸΈπŸž

The children have been loving all things bugs and nature lately! From watching caterpillars grow into beautiful butterflies, to learning about tadpoles turning into frogs, there has been so much excitement and curiosity around our tiny creatures and wildlife 😊

We have been busy bug hunting in the garden, carefully exploring where insects live and talking about all the different creatures we can find. Anna also went pond dipping at home and kindly brought in an amazing array of little pond besties for us to observe and learn about together πŸͺ²πŸ¦—πŸ’š

The children have enjoyed asking questions, exploring nature up close, and developing their understanding of lifecycles and the world around them through hands-on experiences.

Lots of excitement, discovery, and outdoor adventures today 🌿✨

Sunny days are perfect for water play fun β˜€οΈπŸ’¦

We transformed our outdoor area into a water play haven and the children had the best time exploring, splashing, and cooling down in the sunshine. There was lots of filling, pouring, tipping, and spraying as the children used their imaginations and worked together through play 😊

Water play is a fantastic way to support communication, coordination, and sensory exploration β€” and most importantly, everyone had so much fun in the sun!

Smiles, laughter, and plenty of splashes all around πŸ’™

Our tuff tray activity was all about messy construction fun πŸš§πŸ›»βœ¨

The children explored a construction-themed tuff tray using shaving foam mixed with paint to create a colourful, sensory play experience. They loved using the dumper trucks to scoop, push, and clear away the stones, sticks, and rubble just like real builders!

As the activity continued, the children turned the shaving foam into a mark-making area, using their fingers to create lines, patterns, and practise writing their names. A fantastic way to combine imaginative play, sensory exploration, and early writing skills 😊

Lots of creativity, teamwork, and learning through play today!

After lots of outdoor play and enjoying the warm weather, we all enjoyed a refreshing ice lolly to help keep us cool. The children loved sitting together, chatting about their day, and relaxing in the sunshine with their tasty treats 😊

A perfect ending to a happy day full of fun, laughter, and summer smiles πŸ’›

The children have been busy in our garden planting sweet peas and caring for our wildflowers and vegetables 🌱🌸πŸ₯•

They helped to plant, water and look after everything, learning how to take responsibility and care for living things. The children are excited to watch their plants grow and change over time! πŸ’š

Gardening gives so many wonderful opportunities for hands-on learning, patience and understanding the natural world around us. 🌿✨

We created a digger world in our tuff tray this week using all-natural materials 🌿🚜

The children had lots of fun digging, driving the diggers around, and filling and tipping. They explored moving materials such as mud and lentils, enjoying the different textures as they scooped, poured and transported them around the tray. πŸͺ΅βœ¨

This hands-on play supported their imagination, coordination and understanding of how things move and work in the world around them.

The rest of the children also enjoyed practising their scissor skills, creating their own flower and leaf pictures βœ‚οΈπŸŒΈπŸƒ

They carefully cut and arranged their pieces before sticking them onto paper, showing great concentration and creativity. πŸ’š

Activities like this support fine motor development, hand-eye coordination and early writing skills, all through fun, hands-on learning.
