Happy Graduation to our 2026 Leavers! What a beautiful sunny day we had for our celebrations! ☀️☀️🎓🎓The children were true superstars and we wish them every success as they start their new journey at school!!! Xx

Staff Awards were given out this week for Summer Term.

Congratulations to Beth who received the Managers Award for her dedication as Room Leader of our toddler room. She has worked very hard this term to ensure that Little Gems runs well, and that all the children are well cared for. Parents also highly praised her for her kindness, professionalism and ability to lead the room making it the success it is. She also received the Staff Vote with her peers saying how much they have valued her when settling into the nursery and for all the things she does in the room to make it a fun place to be! Well done! x

Congratulations to Mathew was awarded the Parent Award, with parents mentioning his warmth and caring nature, his insights at handover when discussing their child's day, and the positive impacts he has made to the children due to the relationships he has formed, parents also commented on what a great role model he is. Well Done! x

Congratulations to Precious Stones and Little Stones for winning the Room Award. Ashleigh in particular was credited with her wonderful patience and warmth when welcoming our new babies into the setting and how parents were secure in knowing their children were well looked after. Amy and Ffion were also mentioned for their positivity in Little Stones and how well they know the children. Well Done!

We are happy to announce that the holiday club will be running in the upcoming Summer Holidays from Monday 27th July – Friday 28th August.

Places will be limited and can only be offered on a first come first served basis.

The children engaged in lots of sensory play this week. Toddlers enjoyed learning all about the Ocean and the animals that live there and Preschool got muddy and messy with farm animals! Our youngest have also been enjoying the water, outdoors and construction.

It was Child Safety Week this week and the Preschool children focused on the importance of child safety and how to prevent accidents and injuries. They went on a walk through the village, looking at road signs and what they mean, how to keep safe on the road and hazards to look out for. We extended this during the week learning about people who help us such as Doctors and Nurses, the children enjoyed role play and performing operations through creative and messy play!

Last month we welcomed new babies to Precious Stones and they have all settled in so well. They have engaged in lots of outdoor playtime in the sunshine whilst developing their fine and gross motor physical skills through construction, mark making and sensory activities.

As part of Mental Health Awareness Week last week the Preschool children were taken on a Mindfulness Walk appreciating the nature around us, listening, looking and grounding ourselves. They also learned the importance of exercise and the positive feelings we get from walking and being outdoors. This led to their curiosity about frogs and tadpoles which developed into lots of fun activities back in the classroom.

It has been a great start to month of May with our toddlers enjoying interests such as Dinosaurs and The Hungry Caterpillar. Learning through sensory and explorative activities help the children learn through the use of their senses and brings life to stories. Our Preschool children also started their trips to Waverton Primary School this week as part of the transition to school, it was so lovely to walk through the village and play in the park before visiting the Reception Class.
