We would just like to say a great big thank you to everyone who donated, baked, called in for a coffee/ tea and cake for the MacMillan coffee morning, which we held here at Best Friends. We raised an amazing £150 for this amazing charity which is so close to many of our hearts, thank you once again 💚

🌟 Employee of the Month for August – Tory! 🌟

Our lovely manager, Tory, has very deservedly received Employee of the Month! 💗

Tory works so hard every single day to make sure our children, families and staff are happy and supported, while keeping everything running smoothly throughout the nursery. No matter how busy she is, she always makes time for everyone and is never afraid to get stuck in and help out in the rooms whenever she’s needed.

Tory is such a big part of Best Friends and does so much behind the scenes that often goes unseen. We really do appreciate everything she does for us and feel very lucky to have her leading and supporting our team. 🥰

On the 20th of August we celebrated St. Stephen’s Day which is the foundation of the Hungarian State, which was established over 1000 years ago by King Stephen I.
Bernie brought the Hungarian flag and all those beautiful outfits that the children tried on, along with other famous Hungarian inventions such as the Rubik’s Cube. We listened to Hungarian songs and fairy tales, learnt the basic steps of Hungarian folk dancing, learnt about the origin of the Hungarian Goulash and the shepherds who played the flute to their sheep. Jake has made us yummy goulash for lunch and we tasted other snacks such as “Ropi” in the afternoon we made some savory scones from Bernie’s grandma’s recipe! We had such a fun day! ❤️🤍💚

Last week, we celebrated Emergency Services Day!

We spent time talking about all the amazing people who help to keep us safe every day. The children enjoyed dressing up, looking at and reading books, and learning about the different roles within our emergency services. 👮‍♀️👩‍🚒🚑

We also chatted about our own families and discovered that some of our children have family members who work within the emergency services!
