Guitar Lessons and Pro Setups/Repairs Chester Lessons are available to all ages from beginner to advanced levels. Our guitar repair and setup service covers truss rod adjustment and much more!!

Beginner Guitar Lessons
The lessons are fun and relaxed with an emphasis on structured learning, which aims to develop a solid grounding as a base for further study. Intermediate Guitar Lessons
Building on initial foundations, these lessons provide further structured and relaxed study with an emphasis on developing the core aspects. Typical subjects covered may include: understanding and using barre chords, pentatonic/blues scales, major scales and their modes, developing repertoire from the rock/pop and jazz genre. There are also options at this stage to begin working towards guitar grades 1-8 provided by the Rockschool syllabus. Advanced Guitar Lessons
Extending existing knowledge, these lessons provide further study of technique, theory and more advanced repertoire. Typical subjects covered may include: the use of tritone substitutes, implementing the modes of the melodic/harmonic minor and diminished scales, chord voice leading, the use of chromatics, a deeper understanding of jazz standards and applying improvisation to chord changes. All guitar lessons are taught on a 1:1 basis from my home studio. Pro Guitar Setup/Repairs

The Pro Setup service is designed to fine tune a guitar's overall playability by adjusting the neck relief, bridge height and nut height; as well as maintaining the fretboard, frets and electrics. The service will include:

Relief and truss rod adjustment
Adjusting the action height
Setting the saddle radius
Setting the intonation
Fretboard cleaning/treatment
Fret polishing
Maintaining the electrics
General clean
Stringing up and stretching the strings in
Pickup height and adjustment

This isn’t beginner tuition or weekly short lessons, it’s one focused hour per month, tailored to your goals, with a clear practice framework to guide your playing between sessions.

Ideal for:
• Adult players who practise independently
• Guitarists who feel unfocused or have plateaued
• Players interested in rock, blues, jazz, improvisation, or a deeper understanding

📍 Based in Chester for face-to-face or Zoom lessons (which work just as well) for players further afield
