Sign Up Saturday 4 July!

This year’s Summer Reading Challenge for children aged 4-12 is the musically themed “Read to the Beat”, offering a fun and flexible way to keep young readers engaged over the holidays.

Children can sign up for free and receive a starter pack and magazine, with stickers to collect as they take part. The aim is to read six books over the summer or create some personalised goals, with a certificate and medal awarded on completion.

The challenge can be tailored to suit each child, with optional activities such as reading a book recommended by a friend or exploring something new. Children under 4 are invited to take part in a Mini Challenge, with their own special pack and a gold sticker reward at the end.

There’s also an exciting programme of events running alongside the challenge, including favourites like animal handling, as well as new experiences such as a planetarium, songwriting for families and a harpist performance.

Event bookings open in the library from Saturday 4 July and online from Monday 20 July.

Children can join from Saturday 4 July at their local library or online here https://cwac.co/RcAQd
