✨ Feature Friday – Acro Top Ava-Jade ✨

This week’s Feature Friday is all about our acro top Ava-Jade, who is heading into the new competition season with plenty of determination and some exciting goals! 💙🤸‍♀️

Ava-Jade has recently been working on her aerial – a skill that takes confidence, commitment and plenty of practise to master. She’s continuing to work hard on it and build the consistency she needs. 💪

One of the things making Ava-Jade feel most motivated at the moment is getting her new routine with her partnership. Having something new to work towards has made her even more determined to perfect their skills, polish the little details and make their routine the very best it can be. ✨

Ava-Jade is inspired by Coach Anna, who encourages her to push herself and perform to the best of her ability. Having someone who believes you can give that little bit more can make such a difference in training. ❤️

One of her favourite achievements came as a complete surprise – receiving a Stand Out Star Award! 🌟 Sometimes the achievements you aren’t expecting are the ones that mean the most, especially when they recognise everything you bring to the gym.

Her advice to other gymnasts is:

💬 “Never give up – just keep trying until you succeed.”

And that attitude fits perfectly with Ava-Jade’s goal for the season ahead. She wants to perfect her skills and, most importantly, work together with her partners as a team to achieve success on the competition floor.

New routine, new goals and a brand-new season ahead. Keep working hard and enjoying the journey, Ava-Jade – we can’t wait to see your partnership out there! 💙✨

Preschool gymnastics: where lying on the mat is sometimes all part of the plan. 😂❤️

At this age, gymnastics doesn’t need to look perfect.

It’s exploring. Moving. Rolling. Trying things. Building confidence. And sometimes having a little giggle from the floor while you’re doing it. 🤸‍♀️

Our preschool sessions are full of these little moments — and they’re just as much a part of learning as the big ones.

Our preschool gymnastics classes are all about learning through movement — building coordination, balance, strength and confidence while having plenty of fun along the way.

We currently have a handful of spaces available in our Friday preschool sessions at Northern Hope Gymnastics.

Good coaching isn’t always the bit where someone is doing gymnastics. ❤️

Sometimes it looks exactly like this.

Stopping. Talking. Listening. Explaining. Working something out together.

We’re incredibly proud of the skills our gymnasts learn, but the conversations that happen between attempts matter too. A coach isn’t simply there to tell a gymnast what to do — understanding the person you’re coaching is just as important as understanding the gymnastics. 🤸

These little moments happen every day at Northern Hope, usually when nobody is paying much attention to them.

Gymnastics is about so much more than learning gymnastics. ❤️

For one person it might be confidence.
For another, it’s friendships.
A place to belong.
Something to work towards.
Or simply the highlight of their week. 🤸

We see so many different reasons why our gymnasts keep walking through our doors — and there’s no right answer.

Sometimes the best advert for gymnastics is the face of someone right in the middle of it. 😂❤️

No perfect pose. No carefully staged photo. Just a very happy gymnast, mid-air, enjoying being in the gym.

That’s a big part of what we want Northern Hope Gymnastics to be — a place where children can learn, challenge themselves, be active and actually enjoy doing it.

Because amongst all the skills, training and progression, there should always be room for moments like this. 🤸

Not every training session feels amazing.
Not every skill comes quickly.
Not every week feels like progress.

Sometimes you wobble. Sometimes you struggle. Sometimes gymnastics is just HARD.

But you keep showing up, keep learning and keep going. 🤸
