ldren who attend. As a parent it is often quite baffling and nerve wrecking trying to find a place for our loved ones. We grapple with our emotions as we try and balance our need to work with our need to treasure our children. Our little ones are the most precious things in our lives and it is vital that whoever cares for them feels the same way. What a week at nursery! 🌈📚🎉

From celebrating Rafles’ 19th birthday to enjoying the colours and joy of Holi, it’s been a week full of fun and special moments. We also had a wonderful World Book Day filled with stories and imagination!
In Lower Preschool we also welcomed parents and grandparents throughout the week in to read with the children. The children absolutely loved listening to the stories and we loved having such special visitors in the nursery.
Next week we’re looking forward to welcoming some of the mums from Upper Preschool for a little stay and play session… we can’t wait! 💕

Storytelling Week at Nursery! 📚
What a magical week we’ve had celebrating the joy of stories! From The Very Hungry Caterpillar to The Runaway Pea. Our little storytellers have been busy bringing books to life. The children loved exploring stories in so many different ways, building their imagination, language and confidence.

Merry Christmas to everyone! 🎄

The doors are now closed for this year at Rafles.
It has been a year that began in a way none of us could ever have expected ✨

Thank you to Inpan for continuing to keep Shani’s Nursery exactly as she would have wanted it. Stepping into a team of ladies (and 1 man) is no small task. To our incredible manager Victoria, who is always there for her team no matter what!!

To all the amazing families who have walked through our doors this year… your children have brought smiles and laughter every single day…. especially on the days we needed it most. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for trusting us to care for your little ones. 💕

On behalf of the whole team, we wish you all a peaceful, healthy and loving Christmas. We hope your little ones have the most magical day.

Today we enjoyed our Christmas dinner and Christmas party and what a wonderful day it was! 🎄
A huge thank you to Simon for cooking up a very yummy meal for all the children and staff. It was enjoyed by everyone!
And another big thank you to Magic Mel for coming in to entertain the children… they absolutely loved it! 🪄🎉

🚓 Special Visitors Today! 🚓
Today we had a visit from some police officers. The children were so excited to sit inside the police car, try on police hats, and some even got to try on the handcuffs! The children also had the opportunity to ask the police officers lots of different questions and learn all about the role of police officers.
No arrests were made, and it certainly made the children’s morning. Thank you again for the visit, PC Stuart & team 👮‍♂️✨

Our Lower Preschool children have been busy creating their own festive tree decorations with Naomi! They used a super simple salt dough recipe, perfect for little hands. Why not give it a go at home and add a personal touch to your tree this year? 🎄

Ingredients:
* 2 cups plain flour
* 1 cup salt
* 1 cup warm water (add gradually)

Method:
1. Mix flour and salt together in a large bowl.
2. Slowly add warm water, mixing as you go, until a dough forms.
3. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and stretchy.
4. Shape, roll, cut, or press!
5. Air-dry: Leave for 24–48 hours (turn halfway if thick) or Oven-dry: Bake at 120°C (or lowest setting) for 2–3 hours until fully hardened.
6. Paint once dry and seal with PVA or clear varnish for durability

Today, we said goodbye to the last of our school leavers… and our hearts are full.
We’ve watched these little ones take their very first steps, say their first words, make their first friends, and grow into the most confident, kind, and fun-loving children. To see them now, ready to take on big school, fills us with pride… but also a little sadness as we let them go.
To our leavers… you are ready for this next adventure, and we know you will shine wherever you go. 🌟 To our parents… thank you for trusting us with your most precious little people. Your children are the reason we love our jobs, and being part of their journey has been an honour. Thank you for choosing Rafles!! 💕

Also, good luck to all the children who are still at Rafles but moving on to the next room.. we can’t wait for all the new adventures with you! ✨
