Happy Summer Holidays from everyone at Hawridge and Cholesbury!

Thank you to teachers, staff, governors, families, friends and volunteers. What a fabulous team we have had this year, often going above and beyond for our pupils.

We hope you all have a wonderful, safe and relaxing break filled with fun, family and new adventures.

We look forward to welcoming our new Windmills in September and can’t wait to hear about all the new adventures our Great Oaks will experience as they move into the next stage of their lives 🌳

🌳 Holly Crofts took their learning outdoors to explore reflectional symmetry. Working in groups, they investigated how a line of symmetry creates two identical halves within a shape.
Excellent effort and great teamwork from everyone involved!

'Tints and Tones - A Celebration of David Hockney'

Our Kith and Kin morning saw families foraging for natural materials and working together to create a large printed mural.
The morning was inspired by David Hockney and encouraged our Kith and Kin groups to experiment with a particular colour, showcasing its tints and tones.
These beautiful prints will be displayed in school on our Kith and Kin board.

Folly Fields had a fantastic day visiting Ancient Greece! The day began with an assembly where they took part in a democratic vote to choose which Greek god they would honour. After casting their votes, Zeus was chosen.
Throughout the day they enjoyed a range of exciting activities, they competed in their own Ancient Olympic event - the Triple jump, bought famous Greek myths to life through brilliant drama performances and created beautiful willow wreaths.
To end their celebrations, our children shared a delicious feast tasting flavours enjoyed in Greece today.
What a wonderful day immersed in history.

This term, Great Oaks has been working hard in Design Technology. They’ve learnt about cams, drawn diagrams and constructed wooden box frames. Now they’re integrating a cam mechanism into their automatons.
