🐣🌈 Welcome to our newest Rainbow Sanctuary additions! 🌈🐣

Last week, we were delighted to welcome five healthy little chicks into the world! The children loved watching, waiting and learning about the amazing hatching process. 🐥✨

Our new fluffy friends have been named Nugget, Cinnamon, Silky, Pebbles and Pecky — and they are already proving very popular!

We can’t wait to watch them grow and see them move into their new coop on the farm. What a wonderful hands-on learning experience for our children! 💛🐔🌱

🦠 Explorers Get Smart About Germs! 🧼

Our Explorers children became hygiene heroes as they dove into a fascinating (and slightly sparkly!) investigation all about germs—and how to keep themselves and others healthy.

Using special UV lights and glow gel, the children examined what was hiding on their hands—even when they looked clean! They watched in amazement as the “germs” (represented by the glow gel) lit up under the UV rays, showing just how easily invisible microbes can spread from person to person through handshakes, toys, and everyday surfaces.

The children then practised the best way to wash their hands thoroughly—scrubbing for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water, making sure to clean between fingers, around thumbs, and even their wrists! They also discussed other important ways to stop germs from spreading.

Our Explorers are now certified germ-busting experts—ready to keep themselves and their friends safe and healthy all year round! 💪✨

💕 A Bittersweet Farewell to Our Rainbow Stars 💕

Last week, our hearts were full of joy—and just a little bit of sadness—as we celebrated our wonderful graduating children at our very special graduation party. 🎉

The day was filled with laughter, music, and so much love. The children’s faces lit up as they chose their favourite ice cream from the one and only Mrs. Whippy! 🍦 They giggled and danced along to the hilarious antics of “Mr Pickles.” It was a perfect celebration of all the fun, friendship, and happy memories we’ve shared together.

Saying goodbye is never easy. Our Rainbow family will miss the bright smiles, the curious questions, the warm hugs, and the endless energy that each of our leaving children brought to nursery every single day. You’ve all grown so much—inside and out—and we’re so incredibly proud of you. 🌈

Though you’re off on your next big adventure at school, you’ll always have a special place here at Rainbow Nursery. We can’t wait to hear all about your new friends and your exciting school stories when you come back to visit us. Please do pop in soon—we’d love to see your shining faces and hear all about your next chapter! 📚✨

To our graduating stars: thank you for filling our days with joy, wonder, and so much love. We’ll miss you dearly—but we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way. Go shine bright, little ones! 🌟

With love and best wishes always,
The Rainbow Nursery Team 💖

🌱 Harvest joy at our nursery allotments! 🌾

Our little gardeners have been busy bees (or should we say, busy worms? 🪱) tending to their very own fruit and veg patch—and this week, all that patience and care paid off in the most delicious way! The children harvested juicy red tomatoes, crisp green beans, colourful peppers, and—wait for it—some absolutely giant pumpkins! 🍅🫛🫑🎃

After carefully picking their produce, the children washed, sorted, and helped prepare their very own morning snack. There was so much pride (and a few giggles) as they tasted the fruits—or should we say, vegetables—of their labour!

Discoverers 1 enjoyed painting on different textures, exploring their senses while developing important early skills 🎨🎨

In this activity, they painted onto bubble wrap wrapped around a tree, discovering how the uneven surface changed the way the paint looked and felt. As they pressed, dabbed, and brushed the paint onto the bubble wrap, they strengthened their hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, while also exploring colour, texture, and cause and effect through play.

🐹✨ Patch the guinea pig popped into Toddlers today — and what a star he was! ✨

Our little ones showed such calm, gentle hands as they stroked his soft fur and watched him sniff around. Moments like this help toddlers learn empathy, self-control and how to care for living things.

Patch is already looking forward to his next cuddle session! 💕

🍓🍦 Explorer Chefs in Action! 🍦🍓

On such a hot day, our Explorer children turned little chefs and made their very own yogurt fruit ice lollies! They stirred fresh blueberries and strawberries into creamy natural yogurt, poured the mixture into moulds, and waited patiently for their tasty treats to freeze. The smiles at the end were absolutely worth it! 😋💙

What were they learning?

Healthy habits: Choosing and tasting fruits helps children build positive attitudes towards healthy eating and trying new foods.

Fine motor skills: Stirring, pouring and spooning yogurt and fruit strengthens hand control and coordination.

Language & maths: Talking about colours, textures, “more/less”, and counting berries builds vocabulary and early number ideas.

Science & curiosity: Watching liquid yogurt turn into a frozen lolly supports understanding of change, cause and effect.

Confidence & independence: Making their own snack and enjoying the result gives children a real sense of pride and achievement.

🚜💛 Little Builders, Big Learning! 💛🚜

Our Discoverers had so much fun painting with diggers and trucks, rolling the wheels through paint to make tracks, lines and patterns. Then they extended the play by washing the vehicles in the water tray, scrubbing with sponges and brushes until they sparkled again! 🎨🧽💦

What were they learning?

Making marks with vehicles is an early step towards writing and drawing.

Pushing, steering and gripping trucks builds hand strength and control for later pencil use.

Exploring “dirty/clean” and different tyre marks supports language, problem solving and understanding cause and effect.
