🌟 What a Fantastic Week at Nursery! 🌟
Our little learners have had a wonderful week full of exciting discoveries, creativity and recapping about our previous topics from this term !

We've explored travelling around the UK and travelling abroad, learning about different places, types of transport, and the amazing world around us. The children loved sharing their own travel experiences and using their imaginations through role play and storytelling. βœˆοΈπŸš‚πŸŒ
As we've welcomed the summer season, we've enjoyed spending time outdoors, talking about the signs of summer, and learning all about sun safety. The children discovered why it's important to wear hats, apply sun cream, drink plenty of water, and play safely in the shade. β˜€οΈπŸ§΄πŸ§’
Our learning also included exploring colours and shapes through painting, sorting, matching, construction, games, and exciting hunts around the nursery. These activities helped develop early maths, language, creativity, and problem-solving skills. πŸ”ΊπŸŸ¦
It has been a joy to watch the children learn through play, build confidence, and make new discoveries every day. Thank you to all our families for supporting their learning at home too.

This week, our little learners have been discovering the exciting world of shapes! Through fun, hands-on activities, the children have been learning to recognise and name a variety of 2D shapes, including circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles.
We've enjoyed shape hunts around the nursery, building with blocks, creating shape pictures, exploring puzzles, and singing shape songs. The children have also been spotting shapes in everyday objects, helping them understand how shapes are all around us! πŸ πŸš¦πŸ•
Learning about shapes supports children's early maths skills, problem-solving, language development, and creativity. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence grow as they identify and talk about the shapes they find.
You can continue the learning at home by going on a shape hunt, looking for shapes in your home or on a walk, or encouraging your child to create pictures using different shapes.
We've had a fantastic week full of learning, exploring, and discovering the shapes that make up our world! 🌟

This week, our little learners have been exploring the wonderful world of colours! Through a variety of fun and engaging activities, the children have been learning to recognise, name, and use colours in their everyday play.
We've enjoyed painting colourful masterpieces, sorting and matching objects, singing colour songs, reading stories, and going on colour hunts both indoors and outdoors. πŸŒˆπŸ–ŒοΈπŸ”΄πŸŸ‘πŸ”΅
Exploring colours helps to develop children's communication, creativity, observation skills, and early understanding of the world around them. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they identify colours and express themselves through art and play.

With the warmer weather here, we've been learning all about the importance of staying safe in the sun! Our children have been discovering simple ways to protect themselves while still enjoying outdoor play.
We've talked about:�🌞 Wearing a sun hat to protect our heads and faces.�🧴 Applying sun cream before going outside.οΏ½πŸ’§ Drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated.�🌳 Playing in the shade when the sun is at its strongest.
Through stories, discussions, role play, and fun activities, the children have been learning how these healthy habits help keep us safe while we enjoy the sunshine.
A gentle reminder to parents and carers to send your child to nursery with a named sun hat and ensure sun cream has been applied before arrival, where applicable.

🌎✈️ Our Nursery Adventure Around the World! 🌍

This week, our little adventurers have been exploring what it's like to travel abroad! We've been learning about different countries, cultures, languages, and the exciting ways we can travel to new places. From packing a suitcase to imagining journeys on aeroplanes, the children have loved discovering the world beyond the UK. 🧳✈️🌞

Through stories, creative activities, music, role play, and arts and crafts, the children have explored different traditions, tasted new experiences through imaginative play, and talked about holidays they have enjoyed with their families.

Travelling helps us learn about the wonderful diversity of our world, and we've loved encouraging curiosity, kindness, and an appreciation for different cultures.

Why not continue the learning at home by looking at a globe or map together, sharing photos from family holidays, or talking about places you'd like to visit one day?

We are so incredibly proud of each and every one of our school leavers. Watching them perform their graduation dance with such confidence and excitement was so special, and they all did an amazing job! ❀️

It has been an absolute privilege to watch each of you grow, learn and develop into the kind, confident and curious little people you are today. We have loved being part of your early years journey and will miss you all so much.

🌍✈️ Our Little Explorers Have Been Travelling Around the UK! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

This week at nursery, our children have been learning about travelling around the UK as part of our EYFS curriculum. We explored maps, talked about the four countries of the UK, and discovered different ways we can travel, including by car, bus, train, boat, and aeroplane.

The children enjoyed imaginative role play by packing suitcases and setting off on their own adventures, creating travel-themed artwork, and sharing stories about places they have visited with their families. These experiences supported their communication and language skills, encouraged curiosity about the world, and developed their understanding of people, places, and communities through play.

We love seeing our little explorers using their imaginations and building confidence as they discover the world around them. πŸŒŸπŸ’™
