OCTOBER FILM NIGHT
WEDNESDAY, 2 OCTOBER
Flamin’ Hot directed by Eva Longoria is the inspiring true story of Richard Montañez (Jesse Garcia) who, as a Frito Lay janitor, helped disrupt the food industry by channeling his Mexican heritage to turn Flamin’ Hot Cheetos from a snack into an iconic global pop culture phenomenon.
An inspirational – and funny – underdog story that should resonate with anyone who has ever had a dream.
The evening starts at 6:30pm with a glass of wine and some nibbles, the film will begin at 6:45pm.
Book your places at reception, or for more information please contact the club on 01932 560 560 or email [email protected]

MyZone classes are back
MZ Circuits, Sweat, Lift & Mix are all back! Back with new exercises and formats for you to try. MyZone classes offer a range of benefits, particularly for those looking to maximise their workout efficiency and track their progress.
Here are some key benefits:
1. Real-time performance feedback: MyZone classes use heart rate monitors to track your effort levels in real-time. This feedback is displayed on screen, allowing you to see how hard you’re working and adjust your intensity to stay in your target heart rate zone, which optimises calorie burn and fitness gains.
2. Increased motivation and accountability: The visual display of effort levels, combined with the competitive and community aspects of MyZone classes, can boost motivation. You can earn MyZone Effort Points (MEPs) for staying in specific heart rate zones, which can be a fun and effective way to stay accountable and push yourself to achieve your fitness goals.

Strength & Conditioning Club!
New! Every Friday at 09:15am.
We are replacing Friday’s Women on Weights with a Strength & Conditioning class - what is Strength & Conditioning though?
Strength and conditioning refers to an area of fitness that focuses on improving athletic performance through exercises designed to increase strength, power, speed, endurance, and overall conditioning. It involves a combination of resistance training and cardiovascular exercises, often tailored to enhance specific physical abilities required for sports or general fitness. So think Women on Weights, open to all, with some cardio!
Don’t worry ladies - we still have two Women on Weights classes each week on a Monday morning and Tuesday evening.
For more information please ask a member of the team or just book your place online.

Welcome to Kettlebell Klub!
New! Every Wednesday 8.15am - 30 minute Kettlebell Session! Running for 6 weeks.
Kettlebells are a versatile and effective tool for fitness training. Here are three benefits of using kettlebells:
Full-Body Workout:
Kettlebell exercises, like swings, cleans, and snatches, engage multiple muscle groups simultaneously. This results in a comprehensive workout that builds strength, endurance, and flexibility all at once. Unlike traditional weightlifting, kettlebell movements require more stabilisation, which activates core muscles and improves overall body coordination.
Improved Cardiovascular Fitness:
Kettlebell workouts often combine strength training with cardio, especially when performed in a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) format. This helps boost cardiovascular endurance, increase calorie burn, and improve metabolic conditioning in a shorter time compared to traditional cardio exercises.
Increased Functional Strength and Mobility:
Kettlebell training emphasises dynamic, functional movements that mimic real-life activities. This can improve your range of motion, joint stability, and overall mobility, making everyday tasks easier and reducing the risk of injury. The swinging and rotational movements inherent in kettlebell exercises also enhance grip strength and core stability, which are essential for functional fitness.
For more information please ask a member of the team or just book your place online.

Refuel and Recover!

As well as recovery, consuming protein is also beneficial for weight management. Below are some key benefits of protein:
1. Muscle Growth and Repair
Muscle Synthesis: Proteins are essential for muscle growth and repair. Amino acids, the building blocks of protein, are used by the body to build and repair muscle tissues, especially after exercise or injury.
Preventing Muscle Loss:
Adequate protein intake can help prevent muscle loss, which is particularly important as we age.
2. Weight Management
Satiety and Hunger Control: Protein is more satiating than carbohydrates or fats, which can help control appetite and reduce overall calorie intake, aiding in weight management.
Thermic Effect of Food:
Protein has a higher thermic effect compared to fats and carbohydrates, meaning it requires more energy to digest, thereby increasing calorie expenditure.

Rob PT Testimonial
“I started 2024 in a pretty poor state. My weekly sessions with Rob have made a huge difference to me. He assesses my capabilities and knows exactly how far he can push me forward, always firm but careful not to overstretch me because of my age. After five months, I now stand tall, walk easily, and feel younger and more energetic. I have found Rob a big help in revitalising me and getting me back into useful exercise. He won’t let me slack, and I call that a result!” - Gillian
If you would like to book a 30-minute Personal Training taster session with Rob, please contact [email protected] and we can get this arranged for you!
