Did you know your little one could be entitled to up to 12.5 HOURS of funded childcare per week? 🌈✨

If your child turned TWO before the start of term, this is your reminder to apply for your Welsh Government funded childcare, starting Monday 2nd November! 🗓️

🌿 Funding is available during term time only (39 weeks per year).

🥛🍓 Snack Time! 🍎🥕

Snack time is a wonderful opportunity for our little ones to develop their independence, confidence and healthy habits! 💛

Our children enjoy making their own choices from a range of healthy options, including fresh fruit and vegetables, crackers, rice cakes, breadsticks and more. 🍌🥒🥨

They are encouraged to independently pour their own milk or water, developing those important self-help skills while building confidence and coordination. 💧🥛

We also encourage the children to take responsibility for their space by scraping their leftovers into the food waste bin when they have finished. 🌱

So much learning happens during something as simple as snack time, from making choices and practising fine motor skills to developing independence and caring for our environment. 🌍✨

🐔🌿 Our chickens are such a huge part of life at Mathern Day Nursery! 🌿🐔

Our chickens have the freedom to roam happily and safely in our large field every day, and our children love being involved in caring for them. From feeding them and checking they’re happy, to helping make sure they’re safely back where they need to be, there are so many opportunities for our little ones to learn through real experiences. 🤎

For us, childhood is about getting outside, getting muddy, connecting with nature and learning to care for the world around us. 🌱

As the saying goes, “There is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing.” 🌦️

At Mathern Day Nursery, we believe some of the most meaningful learning happens outdoors, surrounded by nature, animals and the freedom to explore. 🐔🍃✨
