📌We are excited to share a little update with our community!

We have expanded our holiday club for children aged 3–7 at St John’s, welcoming children from any school or nursery, and feel it’s time to refresh our name too.

We are saying goodbye to “Pre-Prep Holiday Club” and are delighted to introduce Mini Lions Holiday Club, Tutshill 🦁😊

Apart from the new name, everything will stay the same ➡️ lots of sport, creative activities, outdoor play, and Forest School fun led by our teachers, making the most of our fantastic school grounds (or in our hall if the weather isn’t so good!).

We can’t wait to welcome all our Mini Lions next week and throughout the summer holidays for lots of fun and adventures on our beautiful school grounds!🦁🌿⚽️🎨✨

We live our values every day, and last week’s House Music Competition was a perfect example of them in action.💙🎼

We were delighted and proud to welcome Carol Jarvis as our adjudicator. Carol, who has performed with many of the world’s leading artists and ensembles, from the London Philharmonic Orchestra to Queen, Sting, Michael Bublé and Taylor Swift, was impressed by the children’s courage, collaboration, and the way they supported one another throughout the event.

She also shared her powerful personal story with the audience, and her message of resilience, hope and gratitude deeply inspired pupils, staff and parents alike.

The afternoon showcased fantastic performances from our Senior and Junior Choirs, Brass Ensemble, and many outstanding soloists, finishing with the much-loved and eagerly anticipated House Songs.

Congratulations to all involved, with special applause for the individual winners, and to Wye House for winning the House Song. 🏆👏

Thank you to Carol Jarvis for joining us, and to Mr Seth, Mr Rainer, the Music Department, and all teachers for organising this fantastic event and supporting the children on their musical journey.

Meet the newest little members of the St John’s family! 🐣💙

Our old chicken hut may have looked a little empty recently… but exciting things have been happening behind the scenes! 🐔✨

Our chicks have safely hatched and are currently enjoying lots of care and cuddles at Mrs D’s house while they grow big and strong.

In a few weeks’ time, they’ll be ready to move into their new home at school, and we already have a feeling they’re going to be very popular here!

Today we celebrate the birthday of this truly remarkable man, whose life’s work has inspired generations to care for our planet 🌍💚

At St John’s, we are continually inspired by his wisdom and passion for the natural world. We can read and reflect on his powerful message on our mural as we walk through the science corridor - a daily reminder of the importance of protecting and respecting the world around us 🌿

🏏💫 U13 Girls Cricket💫🏏

Our U13 girls took part in yesterday’s cricket festival at The Downs, celebrating 50-years of girls at the school! 🎉

The team finished 2nd in the Plate competition after a series of competitive games against Blundell’s, The Downs, and Wells Cathedral School.

The standard across the day was very high, but the girls continued to grow in confidence, teamwork and decision-making with each match.🌟

A fantastic effort from the whole squad - well done girls!💙

🌱 Pre-Prep Gardening Club! 🌱

After an important meeting with the school Chef, where the children discussed what to plant and what could be made from the vegetables they grow, our enthusiastic young gardeners got started on their first session after lessons!

We can’t wait to see what they will grow!🍅🫑🥕

A special thank you to Chepstow Garden Centre for supporting the club and donating the seeds, and to our teacher for leading the sessions and sharing their gardening knowledge with the children.

Our Pre-Prep children had an out-of-this-world Space Day today! 🪐⭐️👽

A big thank you to Explorer Dome for visiting us and helping bring space to life as pupils explored planets, stars, the Sun and the Milky Way 🌌

All Pre-Prep classrooms were transformed into vibrant, space-themed environments, filled with creative art and craft activities and even “Life in Space” scenes!

Yesterday afternoon, pupils from both Pre-Prep and Prep took to the stage for a wonderful LAMDA Showcase, proudly sharing their talent with parents, friends, and teachers.

LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) develops pupils’ confidence, communication, and performance skills through drama and speech work - and it was wonderful to see all their hard work come to life!🌟

We are incredibly proud of every pupil who took part. Congratulations to you all 👏
