During our second full week back at school, learning certainly didn't stop at the classroom door! Our Year 3, 4 and 5 pupils enjoyed exciting educational visits that brought their topics to life and helped deepen their understanding through hands-on experiences.

🏺As part of their Humanities topic, Year 3 & 4 explored Ancient Egypt at the Egypt Centre in Swansea, discovering artefacts, Egyptian society and beliefs, and even taking part in a hands-on mummification activity.

🚀 Year 5 visited Aerospace Bristol, where they programmed Mars rovers, investigated life on the Red Planet, and stepped aboard the last Concorde ever built!

We hope all our budding historians, scientists and explorers had a fantastic time and discovered plenty of fascinating facts along the way. ✨📚

A big thank you to our teachers for organising these inspiring learning experiences!

Usk Show - Thank You! 🌟

What an amazing day we had at the Usk Show today! It was fantastic to be part of this wonderful event and to welcome so many families to our stall.

We loved seeing children get creative in our craft corner, decorating wooden ornaments and creating lots of beautiful designs. Well done to all who took part! 🎨🍁

A huge thank you to everyone who visited us and stopped by to say hello, whether you were a family new to us, a current family, or one of our much-loved Old St Johnians.

Welcome back, everyone! 🎉
Wow, what a wonderful first day we've had! The school was buzzing with excitement, and it was so lovely to have everyone back.

It was wonderful to see old friends catching up after the summer and new pupils already making friendships and settling into school life.

To make the day even more exciting, our Pre-Prep pupils spent the morning exploring Little City in the Pre-Prep Hall! Playing together, using their imaginations, and getting to know one another was the perfect start for the youngest members of the St John's family. 💙

Have you ever wondered what's behind those stone walls on Castleford Hill in Tutshill?

🏛️ As part of Heritage Open Days, we're opening the doors of historic Tutshill House on Thursday 17 September to explore its history through a guided tour.

Built in the early 19th century, Tutshill House began life as a private country residence before becoming St John's College and later St John's on the Hill School. Today, this Grade II listed building continues its educational legacy as part of the Dean Close Foundation.

➡️Join us to discover the stories behind this unique building, view historic photographs, hear stories from the past, and explore its beautiful grounds overlooking the River Wye and Chepstow.
