๐Ÿฉต Early Learners:

Hello everyone ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿ‘‹

โ€œTiddler: The Story-Telling Fishโ€ is another popular childrenโ€™s book by Julia Donaldson. We use this book to teach early literacy, storytelling, and social-emotional skills. The bookโ€™s repetitive and rhyming text makes it ideal for young learners, while the engaging narrative encourages children to develop their own storytelling abilities and imagination ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿฆž๐Ÿชผ
The children have enjoyed playing and exploring in the pirates ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ and sea tuff tray๐Ÿณ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฆ€, blue playdough with shells ๐Ÿš and fish cutters ๐Ÿ . Outside we enjoyed water play, mud kitchen and building sandcastles ๐Ÿ๏ธ

๐Ÿฉต Preschool:
Our final topic of this term has been โ€˜Down on the farmโ€™ and what a fantastic week we have had.๐Ÿšœ ๐Ÿ„ ๐ŸŒพ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐Ÿท
The children have enjoyed exploring our milking station, sensory farm tray and tractor mark making ๐Ÿšœ We were so lucky to invite some special visitors who really brought our learning to life and turned our outside area in to our very own farmyard. ๐Ÿšœ ๐Ÿ‘

๐Ÿฉต Early Learners:

We have thoroughly enjoyed reading Zog by Julia Donaldson this week as an introduction to our topic. ๐Ÿฒ ๐Ÿ‘ธ
Zog is an ideal Early Years text because its rhyming, rhythmic structure aids language development, while themes of learning, resilience, and challenging stereotypes (Princess Pearl as a doctor) resonate with young children. The story supports curriculum areas like PSED, communication, and Understanding the World. The story explores themes of caring for others through Princess Pearl, friendship, and finding your own path, which aligns with our personal, social, and emotional development ๐Ÿ’•

The children have enjoyed playing and exploring in the doctorโ€™s surgery ๐Ÿฅผ in the home corner, Fireman Sam ๐Ÿš’ and play tent, wooden Hospital o and Fire Station ๐Ÿ”ฅ , fairyland themed tuff tray ๐Ÿงšโ€โ™€๏ธ , orange scented Zog playdough and fairy themed play area including the castle ๐Ÿฐ and mud kitchen potions ๐Ÿงช

๐Ÿฉต Preschool:
This week our topic was Emergency Services. ๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿš‘ ๐Ÿš”
Teaching young children about emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) is crucial for safety and survival, as it empowers them to act calmly in crises, such as calling 999, providing their address, and identifying safe, trusted community helpers. ๐Ÿš’ ๐Ÿš‘ ๐Ÿš”
We have enjoyed exploring our Hospital role play area, investigated our fingerprints on the police sensory tray and played with our emergency vehicles outside.
We have enjoyed learning with lots of special visitors this week who have helped bring our learning to life, including a Paramedic and ambulance ๐Ÿš‘, fire officers and engine ๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ”ฅand a police officer. ๐Ÿš“๐Ÿšจ

This week the children and their families in the Early Learners also enjoyed their Sports day and family picnic and the Preschoolers visited St Michaelโ€™s Court residential home to sing their summer songs and have a chat with the residents. ๐Ÿฅฐ

๐Ÿฉต Early Learners:
This week we have been learning about Summer and what a week its been.โ˜€๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜Ž This is a great season to enjoy the outdoors and enjoy the health benefits of being within nature and keeping active. We have enjoyed exploring all the fun and sporty activities including golf ball rolling, obstacle courses, bean bags in buckets and much more. โ›ณ๏ธ๐ŸŒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

๐Ÿฉต Preschool: Our topic this week was Speedy sports. The Preschool room enjoyed an early sports day and picnic before the heatwave started and enjoyed some traditional races including the egg and spoon race. ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿฅ„๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ

The main aim this week has been keeping cool, so we all thoroughly enjoyed lots of water play too, to keep us cool....even the teachers. ๐Ÿ’ฆ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Last week we invited Daddies into our preschool environments to create a โ€œfather-inclusiveโ€ culture that directly improves a childโ€™s academic, social, and emotional outcomes. While early years settings have traditionally been mother-centric, research shows that children with highly involved fathers are more likely to succeed academically and demonstrate better emotional stability๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿฉต๐Ÿ’™
The children in the Early Learners room and their important men enjoyed exploring the workman tuff trays with cereals, diggers ๐Ÿšœ, the messy tray with boats, train tracks, happy land, space and safari role play. While the Preschool room held a sporty activity afternoon where they were able to share some fun with the special men in their lives. It was so lovely to see so many Dads and Grandads joining in the fun. ๐Ÿˆ๐ŸŽฃโšฝ๏ธ
