Earlier this week, our Nursing, Paramedic Science, Sports Science, and Student Nursing Associate students took part in a major incident simulation 🚨

TW: images of a simulated emergency scene some may find distressing

Along with visiting Doctors and Nurses from Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, our students responded to the emergency, getting full access to the new FutureSim development at Oxstalls campus which featured

πŸ₯ A fully stocked simulated emergency department, including majors and minors and a pre-hospital care element
πŸš‘ Three ambulances
🏠 Simulation flats
πŸ’‘ The new immersive room and interactive table
πŸ–₯️ The Hydra Suite Control room

This real-world learning environment gives our students hands-on experience in an emergency situation, preparing them for their future in healthcare πŸ’™

What does inclusion in sport look like for trans men?

As public debate often focuses elsewhere, there is still very little research exploring trans men and transmasculine people's experience in sport and physical activity.

Building on previous research conducted by Professor Emily Ryall, PhD and Dr Rachael Bullingham, along with UoG Graduate Francesca O'Neil, amplifying participants' lived experiences of trans men participating in sport.

Their new research project will explore experiences of participation, belonging, inclusion, and exclusion across sporting environments, helping to develop a fuller picture of what meaningful inclusion looks like.

As the research is ongoing, they are asking for participants, please email [email protected] if you’d like to get involved
