¡Hola!

I am a professional Spanish teacher with overt wenty years of experience teaching this beautiful language. Delivering courses I have created since 2016, which I am continuosly improving. I am a native Peruvian, Spanish speaker. I have lived in Peru, in Barcelona, Spain, and I have been living in the UK for over 19 years. The time spent in all three countries has given me the opportunity to gain insight of their culture and educational system. I am a qualified Primary School Teacher. I have transferred this knowledge to my work as a Spanish teacher, thus enriching my students learning. I have experience in teaching Spanish at schools and nurseries and delivering private lessons, playgroups and Social events. My students have included beginners to those working towards their A Levels, achieving excellent results. Sessions are Fun and Interactive and can be held in groups, with your friends or on a one to one lesson. Classes are planned and structured using educational games, and activities to make the entirely learning process more enjoyable. All classes are currently online, giving my students the opportunity to go abroad and still be able to join their classes and to practice it. Conversational lessons and Spanish social events are available if you just need to keep practicing and improving your speaking and listening skills. It is all about motivation and practice. ¿PARA QUÉ? vs ¿POR QUÉ?

These two question phrases both use qué, but they ask completely different questions.

¿PARA QUÉ? : What for? / For what purpose?
Use it to ask about the purpose or intention of an action.

📚 ¿Para qué estudias español?
What are you learning Spanish for?

🔑 ¿Para qué sirve esta llave?
What is this key for?

¿POR QUÉ? : Why?
Use it to ask about the reason or cause of something.

😴 ¿Por qué estás cansado?
Why are you tired?

❌ ¿Por qué no viniste ayer?
Why didn't you come yesterday?

RECUERDA
¿Para qué? : asks about the purpose or goal.
¿Por qué? : asks about the reason or cause.

NOTICE THE DIFFERENCE
¿Para qué estudias español? (To communicate, travel, work...)
¿Por qué estudias español? (Because I enjoy it, my partner is Spanish…)

Remember: qué always has an accent when used in direct or indirect questions. Can you write one question with ¿Para qué...? and another with ¿Por qué...?

¿DE QUÉ? vs ¿EN QUÉ?

These two question phrases both translate as "what", but the preposition changes the meaning.

¿DE QUÉ? : What... about? / What... made of?
Use it to ask about the topic, material, or content.

📖 ¿De qué trata este libro?
What is this book about?

🧀 ¿De qué está hecho este queso?
What is this cheese made of?

¿EN QUÉ? = In what? / What... in?
Use it to ask about the place, situation, field, or means where something happens.

💼 ¿En qué trabajas?
What do you do for a living? (Literally: In what do you work?)

🏫 ¿En qué colegio estudiaste?
Which school did you study at?

RECUERDA
✅ De qué : topic, origin, material or content.
✅ En qué : place, field, activity or context.

Remember: qué always has an accent when used in direct or indirect questions.

PARA CUÁNDO vs HASTA CUÁNDO

These two expressions both refer to time, but they ask different questions.

¿PARA CUÁNDO...? = By when? (deadline)

📄 ¿Para cuándo es la tarea?
By when is the homework due?

📧 ¿Para cuándo necesitas el informe?
By when do you need the report?

¿HASTA CUÁNDO...? = Until when? (end point)

🏖️ ¿Hasta cuándo te quedas?
Until when are you staying?

📚 ¿Hasta cuándo estudias hoy?
Until when are you studying today?

RECUERDA
✅ Para cuándo : asks about a deadline or when something should be ready.
✅ Hasta cuándo : asks about the end of a period of time.

Remember: cuándo always has an accent when used in direct or indirect questions.
