This last half term has flown by! We have been busy completing and sending out transition information for our preschoolers, completing two year checks for our youngest learners, completing the relevant checks with Ofsted to support our change of location, moving sports days due to heatwaves, taking part in an end of year party, experiencing a music and movement session and saying our goodbyes to our preschool children at their graduation 👩‍🎓

We are sad to say goodbye to our preschool children and proud of who they are becoming. Some of those children we have known for two years! We have loved being a part of all of their journeys, watching them grow in confidence and supporting their growing independence. We hope the settling in sessions at their new schools goes smoothly!

Well done to everyone who joined us for our postponed sports day yesterday, it was lovely to have time to chat with our families, to watch the children have fun completing their sports day obstacle course with a couple of races at the end and enjoy some cold treats 🍦

We’ve been a little quiet on our social media recently as we have been very busy behind the scenes moving many boxes of resources over to our new location. It has been very hot work in the recent heat waves!!

For all our families who are staying with us and those who are joining us in September, we have sent an email about how to access playgroup in September! We will also be in touch with our new starters in September during the holiday period. Our phone number and email remain the same, so if you have any queries, please get in touch.

We are on the hunt for one or two of these if anyone knows of someone selling some?? We have been keeping an eye out on marketplace but wondered if any of our followers may have one they no longer need?

How is there only two weeks until the end of term!

Staff have been super busy completing transitions for your child’s school teachers. Children have been attending their schools for transition mornings and afternoons. Teachers have visited the setting to meet children and get to know them a little more. ☺️
We are very proud of the children for being so brave in starting their new chapters and we cannot wait to celebrate our time with your children on our graduation afternoon Tuesday 7th July, with our preschoolers and their parents. 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓

We have been practicing our fine motor skills, independence, sensory trays, lots of water play, and plenty of arts and crafts with different materials to stick and glue. Another fun packed week👏👏

As a heads up it’s warmer weather next week please keep an eye out for any messages that we may send regarding the weather and any changes we may need to make to keep your children safe.

PATA (UK) - The Reddings Playgroup, Cheltenham, Gloucester, GL51 6RF PATA is the largest voluntary sector provider of support to early years childcare and education in Gloucestershire.

Wow what a boiling hot week it’s been, we have been trying our hardest to keep your children as cool as possible.☀️☀️☀️

We have had lots of ice and water play, lots of drinks and using fans to cool the room. 💦💦💦

We used spray bottles to cool the children and have had ice lollies too. We have only been out in the shaded areas for small amounts of time.

We hope everyone has a lovely weekend and staying safe in the sun.

We have been busy outside transporting water, we used paint to colour the water to see it travelling through the tubes and down the funnels. 💦

We have been making ’GINORMOUS‘ bubbles with large bubble wands. The children were intrigued to create such BIG 🫧 we noticed the bubbles had rainbow colours on them.🌈

Children have been counting with Pom poms matching the correct amount to different numbers. 🎨

Children have been getting stuck into practice sports day using the equipment regularly using their gross motor skills and lots of physical play. Well done everyone ☺️

The children made playdough using different ingredients and combing the mixture together to create a dough to play with, we used paints to colour the playdough and children had a selection of resources to choose from when rolling , cutting and creating with the dough.

REMINDER- Wednesday 24th June is our sports day @9:30am we hope you can all make it. 😃

Next week the weather does look incredibly hot please make sure your child comes to playgroup with drinks, hats and water bottles. We will be having lots of water play activities to keep children cool. Please ensure your child has a change of clothes with them every day next week.
