A little non-work post ✨

I’ve just had the best two weeks off with my kids… and we’ve been so lucky with the weather ☀️ it honestly makes everything better.

Last year I was really questioning my career path. Thinking about stepping away from beauty and what a new chapter could look like for me.

Something that isn’t spoken about enough with being self-employed is how much it actually takes from you.

It’s not just your clients. It’s the posts, orders, stock, accounts, everything!

I pushed myself so hard I ended up writing my own “Burnout Bible” because I hit my limit.

An example and many clients know, I went back to work 4 weeks after my C-section with Tayte 😱 because I felt like I had to. That fear is real, if you don’t work, you don’t earn. And being solely self-employed, that pressure never really leaves.

But looking back now, I’ve missed so much time watching my kids grow because I gave everything to my business.

Getting a job in a school as welfare officer has honestly changed everything for me. A career path that I have always been passionate about and that’s helping children.

For the first time in 13 years, I get half terms with my own kids. And that’s priceless.

It’s made me realise something so important
health is wealth.💓

And my happiness will always come from time with my children and doing work that actually aligns with me.

I still love beauty. I still do it. I still teach it…..but now it fits around my life.

I don’t have to fit around it anymore 🤍

P.s Tommy didn’t come to this trip as he said it was too hot 🤓also if any of yall think the toddler stage it hard, you wait till them teen years 🤣

My darlings, you may have noticed I’ve been a little M.I.A. from socials lately. I’ve needed a much needed break from the pressures that come with running a business and constantly being “ON.”

Over the past few months, I’ve been more focused on pouring back into my own cup something that being self-employed can easily take away from you. The beauty industry, as many will agree, has changed so much and it’s not just simply exchanging messages and arranging appointments like it once was. There’s a constant pressure to show up online, to always be visible and truthfully that can be draining when life outside of work is just as full.

I’ve absolutely loved watching my business grow and thrive over the years and meeting all my clients, but with that being said, I’ve decided to explore new adventures.

This means I’ll no longer be accepting new clients. However, I’ll be keeping a select number of my regular clients I will be in touch with how to book going forward as of November. I could be back again one day but for now this feels right. 🙂

Right now I want to focus on this new chapter one that allows me to dedicate more time to myself and my home life, which right now feels incredibly important.📖

And don’t worry this doesn’t affect my training! However I am so excited to be refilming and launching training courses online, something I’ve wanted to do for a long time after mainly offering in person courses. Follow to stay up to date ✅

I’ll still be keeping this page active and may share updates as and when, Thank you all for your continued love, patience, and support as I step into this next chapter.

A perfect example of the difference between a standard lash lift and a Korean lash lift.

Bec’s lashes are very delicate. We previously used a TGA system that contained keratin but even when we used the suitable timing for her lash texture, it never really delivered strong results.

This time, we used the Korean technique with cysteamine Boo pure care, .beautybar and the results were chef’s kiss. Bec was one of my first clients to try this new technique, and she checked in with me regularly to give feedback during the aftercare period.

It’s safe to say Korean lash lifts are a total game changer but that said, they’re not necessary for everyone. A standard lift can still work beautifully depending on the client’s lash strength, length, and structure.

Getting to know your client’s lashes is everything. Sometimes it takes that first appointment to really understand how their lashes respond because no matter how much we try to guess the texture, we can still be off. That’s why I always take a “better safe than sorry” approach for a client’s first lift.
