During the summer I bought a beautiful Yamaha P-116, which was a bit of a dream come true. Now she’s home and she’s a beauty!
The shine, the tone, the mahogany 😍 it’s been a joy to get to know this instrument as my own and to introduce it to all my students - 36 lessons into the term so far and she’s still putting a smile on every face 🎹
Thank you - can’t recommend these guys enough for their expertise and for such a smooth process from door to door! ❤️

Happy Christmas and blessings for 2025! 🎹
I’ve hugely enjoyed this term and 2024 as a whole, albeit with some learning curves and a good bit of change! But there’s also been a great deal of growth, and I’m grateful to now be in the exciting position to teach full-time from January, at home and across the Cotswolds.
I’ll have been playing the piano for 3/4 of my lifetime in 2025, which makes me feel OLD! The instrument is an extension of me now in many ways, and I’m grateful to be able to play a key part in the development of lots of other young musical journeys, while continuing to build something that serves and connects my community. AND call it my job! What a dream.
Thank you to all my students and their parents for their hard work this year. Have a wonderful Christmas. Slàinte mhath! 🥂

I pulled the car over today to take these photos of a beautiful autumn morning on my way to teach in the Cotswolds… aren’t the colours stunning when the sun hits them?
I also call this the bird of prey commute because every week without fail I see several of them circling and hunting in groups - buzzards (I think) but possibly sparrowhawks - amaaazing 🦅
Love my job!

There’s a wonderful activity in Rep Book 1 called ‘Outer Space’ where students are encouraged to draw their own space objects and improvise music for them on the piano.
One of my students drew Harold the Alien and, having completed the activity at home, returned with a portrait of Harold for my music room! Isn’t it fab?
I love the Piano Safari method for this reason. It’s hugely creative and engaging, and lots of fun!

I’m a bit of Stravinsky geek and I’ve written a blog to explain why! Check it out ⬇️
Clue: his music is packed with groovy rhythms... and he was a pianist! 🎹

The Groovy World of Stravinsky
At uni I wrote not one, but two dissertations and both of them focused on the music of Igor Stravinsky. Portrait of Russian-born American composer Igor Stravinsky (1882 – 1971), 1951. (Photo …

Lessons are back for the 2024-25 academic year! 🎹
Lots of fun today after school. Some pupils are working towards exams, and some are learning some cool pieces like the James Bond Theme, a Clementi sonatina, and even a Justin Bieber song!
I have a few spaces left for lessons during this term. Check out my website or send me an email for more info 🎹
