🏑 What a week for our U13 girls 🏑

It’s been an incredible six days for our U13 Girls’ 1st VII, who have secured places in two major finals this November.

First, the girls were crowned Tier 1 County Champions, earning the chance to represent Gloucestershire at the West Finals.

Then, just days later, they produced another fantastic team performance at the IAPS Regional Qualifier, finishing 3rd to book their place at the IAPS National Finals.

From goals and assists to huge tackles, crucial saves and fantastic support from the sidelines, this was a true team effort from start to finish.

Two competitions. Two qualifications. One incredible week, and an exciting November ahead!

Huge congratulations, girls! 👏

🎼 An Evening of Music 🎼

Our Dean Close Music Scholars joined pupils from Kingham Hill School to watch the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra perform a stunning programme of Romantic and contemporary music.

Conducted by the CBSO's new Music Director, Kazuki Yamada, the concert featured works by Debussy, Grieg, Bax and Anna Clyne, showcasing an incredible range of musical styles, colours and emotions. 🎻✨

Broadcast live on BBC Radio 3, the performance gave our Scholars the opportunity to experience world-class music-making and gain inspiration from one of the UK's leading orchestras.

It was a memorable evening for all involved and a fantastic opportunity to further enrich their musical education. 🎶

🌍🐘 We were delighted to welcome Mrs Beecham back to DCPS earlier this week for our first Talks@ session of the academic year. 🐘🌍

Joined by a group of Senior School pupils, she shared incredible stories from their expedition to Namibia, from visiting a local school and helping to build a wall to protect a family's water supply to tracking desert elephants and sleeping beneath a sky full of stars.

✨Thank you to Mrs Beecham and the pupils for bringing their adventure to life for us all. ✨

🐎🌟 Eventing Success 🌟🐎
Shining a spotlight on Fenella and Rose!

Huge congratulations to our talented equestrian riders Rose and Fenella on their outstanding recent achievements. 🎉

🥇 Rose enjoyed a remarkable day at the Blenheim Horse Trials, producing an impressive early clear in the 90cm Eventer Evoke Pony Club Challenge to secure 1st place individually. Her team, North Cotswold Pony Club, also finished on a zero score and held onto top spot to claim the team title after all 40+ teams and 180+ competitors had completed their rounds.

🐴 Fenella represented Central England at the British Eventing U18 BE80 Youth Championships at Chillington Hall, delivering a fantastic performance to finish 5th individually, while also helping her team secure gold and the overall team championship title.

These incredible achievements reflect the hard work, dedication and commitment each rider brings to their sport. We are immensely proud and look forward to following their continued success in the saddle. 👏

🎹 An Evening with Clare Hammond 🎹

We were delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed concert pianist Clare Hammond, described by The Times as one of “extraordinary power”, to Dean Close School yesterday.

Clare led a masterclass for our talented pianists in which they gained invaluable insights into tone, technique, phrasing, musicality and performance. 🎶

In the evening, Music Scholars joined members of the public in the Helen Porter Hall for a truly unforgettable recital of her recent sell-out Wigmore Hall programme, featuring works by Rachmaninov, Stravinsky and Chopin, alongside a contemporary commission by E.R. Richards.

It was a privilege to experience music-making of the very highest standard. 🎵
