We are hiring an After School Club Manager at Child’s Play UK, Leckhampton.

This is a unique role in a play-based setting that follows Playwork methodology, where children lead their own play and adults support, observe, and create the conditions for meaningful experiences to unfold.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading a small team, values child-led play, and wants to work in a calm, inclusive environment that prioritises children’s wellbeing.

What the role involves
• Leading and supporting a small before and after school team, setting a positive and professional tone
• Overseeing the day-to-day running of the club to ensure children feel safe, welcomed, and supported
• Creating and maintaining a play-rich environment guided by Playwork methodology, where children choose how they play and adults respond thoughtfully
• Observing children’s play and stepping in only when needed to support inclusion, safety, or wellbeing
• Supporting staff to understand and apply play-based, child-led approaches in their practice
• Building strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, school staff, and the wider community
• Ensuring safeguarding, routines, and transitions at the start and end of sessions are calm, consistent, and well managed
• Supporting planning, reflection, and clear communication within the team

Role details
• Term-time hours only, mornings and afternoons
• £15 per hour plus great staff benefits
