❤️ Valentine’s Day ❤️
With Valentine’s day a few weeks away, preschool have been exploring the themed sensory tray. Tipping, pouring, exploring textures and talking about colours we associate with things we love. The children have been expressing who they love and how we show the emotion to others 💙

Messy Play
The benefits of messy play include, improving fine motor skills, creativity, cognitive growth, developing language and building relationships through sensory exploration. The preschool children are in full ‘ice cream’ role play mode at the moment so we took the opportunity to extend their play with some pretend ice cream that they could create themselves. They took turns in making each other an ice cream, used their imagination with the flavours and described the texture on their hands. They even added some ‘sprinkles’ to the top to finish their masterpieces 💙

❄️🧊 Welcome back! 🧊❄️
We welcomed back the preschool children this morning and kicked the day off with a frozen tuff tray. The children were using pipettes and coloured water to try and melt the ice and were creating snow men together from the home made snow.
⛄️ ❄️ Snow-dough ❄️⛄️
Preschool finished the week off by building snowmen with playdough. Perfect way to gain the strength in their motor skills and communicating with peers and adults to describe their creations 💙
💙 Donation 💙
Huge thank you to in Cheltenham who very kindly donated some bags of sand through their community programme. It has topped up our outdoor sand pit for the children to enjoy and we couldn’t be more grateful ☺️
As a charity run preschool, we rely on these donations to keep our setting thriving 💙
🎃👻 Spooky Season 👻🎃
The children have been talking about all things spooky this week. They turned into spooky scientists to figure out how to rescue objects from the ice and created pictures using stickers and drawing. We talked about pumpkin picking and they each listened to each other about their decorations at home 💙
💭 Work-It Wednesday 💭
Today Preschool focussed some activities on mastering fine motor skills and problem solving. The children worked together to help each other look for pieces to match images and communicated whilst using small pipettes to describe what they were doing and how 💙 Happy hump day!

🧁🌺 Flower cupcakes 🌺🧁
The Preschool children were using their imaginations today and were making flower cupcakes. They used shaving foam cakes and decorated them with mint leaves, lavender and some flowers. They were describing what they could smell and using their fine motor skills to cut the stalks to the length they wanted 💙 strengthening those motor skills needed for some of them to transition into Reception 🥹
