Come along for one of our most satisfying studio jobs~! ✨

In every class we’re asked what happens to the clay that doesn’t become a pot - our answer is always the same: nothing is wasted!

Even the clay on these throwing batts (left after removing customers pottery) is soaked back down and added to the reclaim! From there is it…

Soaked to break down ➡️ Slopped Out onto Plaster Batts ➡️ Put into the Pugmill!

Once the pugmill has churned and compressed the clay it is ready to be used again! (And more often than not, an even nicer consistency than the new bags of clay!)

We are ✨ HIRING~! ✨

We are incredibly excited to share that we are officially advertising for two roles: a Part-time Throwing Teacher & Time-Exchange Studio Assistant! Here are the details…

⭐️ Part-Time Throwing Teacher ⭐️

Are you a confident thrower who is keen to share your experience and knowledge with beginners and beyond?

We are looking for a part-time throwing teacher to start with us this September - the potter stepping into this role would be leading our very popular 6-Week Throwing Courses (both beginner and ‘Level-Up’) with the opportunity to also teach occasional one-off beginner classes, private parties and even 1-2-1 tuition!

The person in this role would need to be available primarily on Monday and Wednesday evenings but also occasionally on weekends as well!

Requirements for the role:
• A confident and experienced thrower/potter!
• Teaching experience also very ideal
• Keen to guide students through their pottery journey
• Patience and a good sense of humour!
• Happy to work as part of a team
• Open to feedback and adaptable

If YOU want to join our team we are very keen to hear from you! To apply for the role and find out more details please send us an email at:

[email protected]

We will be ‘closing’ applications in 2 weeks (around mid-August) so don’t delay in reaching out and telling us why you’ll be an amazing teacher for our students!

⭐️ Time-exchange Studio Assistant ⭐️

Do you live and breathe pottery? Have you throughly caught the ceramic bug and are always keen to learn more?

We are looking for an enthusiastic potter who has always wanted to get ‘behind the scenes’ and learn all that goes into keeping a pottery studio running! We want to hear from you even if you have never done ‘technician’ jobs before - training and guidance will be provided!

This role would require availability during weekdays - potentially in the morning, afternoon or evening! While this role would start with a half-day every other week this would have the potential to increase over time!

This is a ‘time-exchange’ assistant role meaning it is a voluntary role with studio time (access to our fully equipped pottery studio) in return!

Did you know that we sometimes run private, bespoke pottery classes or courses?

Every now and again we get specific requests for specific pottery projects - in this instance a lovely request for tuition in making a set of handmade porcelain tiles for a DIY kitchen renovation! Featuring flowers from the potters garden! 🌱

We’re so incredibly pleased with the results and can’t wait to one day seem them installed in their new home!

If you’ve ever had a specific pottery project that you would like to be taught or would even like a custom course designed for you we may well be able to accommodate!

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with your enquiries~! ✨

A little peak behind the scenes of the team glazing 100+ pieces of beginners pottery~! (It really does take a village!)

If one of these pieces were yours thank you for your patience as we navigated the last month running the kilns in these start-stop heat waves!

We are just about on top of all of the firing now - if you attended a class before July your work is almost certainly ready to collect! If you haven’t heard from us feel free to get in contact to check before you come along!

Work can be collected any time we are open and we hold onto pottery longer than we really should so even if your class was a few months ago (or years… 👀) don’t hesitate to come and collect!

We love sending pottery to its new home~! 🏠

Last week we had the absolute pleasure of hosting for activities week~!

The lucky groups of year 7 & 8 students attended special ‘combination’ pottery classes with us where they got to experience a taste of both throwing and hand-building!

We were super impressed by not only how polite and well behaved the students were but also by their superb pottery skills! Especially on the pottery wheel they showed a willingness to play and a lack of fear that made their first pots as good as some of our adult beginner potters!

We can just imagine the pure joy those students are experiencing today as they break up for the summer holidays! ☀️

If some of you are hoping to get some pottery into your children’s summer break then be sure to keep your eyes peeled for our special announcement tomorrow… 👀

We were so incredibly proud to be one of the sponsors of .arnett | absolutely beautiful Show Garden at Badminton!

Studio co-founder created 1000 handmade ceramic ‘Seed Tokens’ that played a very important role in the garden - allowing each visitor a moment of pause to remember loved ones lost to cancer.

The garden has truly been a resounding success (winning both gold and the people’s choice award!) and we couldn’t speak higher of .arnett and her team!

Of course it goes without saying that are doing truly wonderful work and we know that this beautiful show garden has grown further support for their amazing charity!
