Oscar Wilde was an Irish author, poet and playwright. Well known for his wit and skill with words, Wilde composed well known classics as ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ and ‘The Picture of Dorian Gray’.

Wilde was educated at home until he was nine and went on to distinguish himself both at school and at university, where he studied ancient civilisations and their writings.
