These outstanding pupils will be collaborating directly with South Essex Academy Trust CEO Catherine Stalham to make sure our core Trust values—Empowerment, Curiosity, Compassion, and Belonging—are truly lived out every single day in our school.
What the PLT will be focusing on:
Student Voice: Representing their peers and bringing fresh, innovative ideas directly to Trust leadership.
Living Our Values: Championing projects that foster curiosity in the classroom, build compassion across all year groups, and ensure every child feels a deep sense of belonging.
Real-World Leadership: Working alongside Trust leaders to actively shape our school environment and culture.

✨ Teamwork Makes the Dream Work! ✨
We are absolutely bursting with pride at Parkwood Academy! 🏫 It is time to celebrate some incredible trends and achievements that reflect the dedication of our staff and the brilliant hard work of our children over the last few years:
🌱 EYFS Excellence: Our Early Years ‘Good Level of Development’ (GLD) has been consistently at or above national averages for the past 3 years! A massive well done to our early years team for setting such a strong foundation.
📚 Phonics Success: Thanks to our Read Write Inc. programme and the total dedication of our practitioners, our phonics scores have been consistently above national averages for the past two years, giving our children essential reading and writing skills for life!
🔢 Maths Mastery: Our Year 4 Multiplication Check scores show a fantastic upward trend over the past 3 years—huge thanks to the fabulous Y4 team!
⭐️ KS2 Progress: While we await our latest SATs results, our 3-year trend is firmly on the up. Last year, we were above national averages in Reading, Writing, and Maths combined!
📈 These milestones show just how beautifully our children learn at Parkwood. But as proud as we are of these statistics, we know that true education is about so much more than data.
❤️ Our children make incredible progress every single day in ways a test paper could never measure—in their kindness, resilience, creativity, and community spirit.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first Colour Run! It was wonderful to share such a vibrant experience with our school community. The children—and adults!—had a fantastic time, with smiles and giggles all round.
The ‘gunge the headteacher’ segment was a particular highlight, but most importantly, we have raised over £200 towards creating our new school sensory room. A huge thank you to the children, parents, and staff who made the event so memorable. A special shout-out must also go to Hannah and Rachel for their incredible work organizing everything.
We are always looking for volunteers! If any parents, carers, or family members would like to help out with future events, please speak to Mrs Monk (you can find her on the door every morning).

We wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who joined us today for our David Attenborough Rainforest Art Project. It was absolutely wonderful to see so many helping hands in the classrooms, working alongside the children to bring their vibrant rainforest creations to life.
The children were absolutely delighted to have you there, and it was a real joy for our staff to see our school community coming together so beautifully.
Beyond the fantastic artwork, it was also a lovely, relaxed opportunity for you to meet and connect with your child’s new teacher ahead of the upcoming school year. Building these relationships is so important to us, and today was the perfect start.
Thank you once again for your continued support, your creativity, and for making today such a memorable event.

We could not be prouder of how beautifully the children shone during this prestigious event.From confidently showing off their hard work to lighting up the stage with their fantastic songs and dances, they absolute stole the show.
